    • Cochrane! It's me again, thanks for the additions to your Banff Springs Hotel pics!!! I've had regret not photographing the new lobby, and just adore your photos! A couple of notes: Were you aware that the carpets that are in the lobby, which you've captured well, were custom made for that space, based on the stained glass window inserts in the windows of Mt. Stephen Hall? And the your photo of "Second Floor Hallway" is actually called The Spanish Walk, if you want to get nit-picky. Has anyone pointed out the painting at the end of that hall, where you were standing to take the pic? It was painted by William Cornelius Van Horne, who was instrumental in the building of the CP Railway. It is his statue in the front round-about 'pointing'. If you look closely at the signature, his name is written backwards-his trademark...probably painted in Montreal where he was from. Great photos, I've set my preferences to be notified when you add to your pages, so I hope to be back soon! Stephanie

    • Hello Cochrane! I was searching photos of Banff and stumbled upont your gallery. VERY NICE PICS! I lived in Banff for 6 years, working at The Fairmont Banff Springs as a pastry chef (most recently of The Banffshire Club). I'm back in Toronto, just created a userID on webshots, and posted a few pics of my own... Thanks for giving me the opportunity to view some current photos of the big hotel-I loved seeing all of the interior pics! Thnanks again, Stephanie
