  • So nice to hear from someone who lived in Navy Housing and attended Holy Family Chapel at the same time we did. We had no car so we spent a lot of time at that bus stop too.I have mixed emotions about seeing it all now as it was so beauitful when we lived there. We also went to the carnival they had in the adjacent lot to raise money for the new church and school. Lee

  • I to lived in NHA#3, during the same time and lived right across the street from Holy Family Chapel (by the bus stop). My brother and I spent alot of time as alter boys for Fr. Sherry,Fr,Mysinger (not sure of spelling) and Bro. Edwards.

  • dbachor1, I am glad you enjoyed my pictures of Old Hawaii. It was so beautiful then before they spoiled it with all the high rises. I am glad we were stationed there when we were. I think I would cry if I would see it now. Interesting that your father was on "The Nick" at the same time my late husband was. Thank you for your comment. Lee

  • Mahalo nui loa for sharing these wonderful photographs! I have spent the past twenty three years working at Pearl Harbor. My father was stationed at Kaneohe from 1958-1962. None of their photographs from that time are around anymore. In fact, my parents won't visit me because they prefer to remember Oahu before it became so comercialized. The housing you were in stood the test of time for over fifty years before it was torn down.
