Hello, while the world is trying to expose the bad side of Afghanistan, you show the beauty of her. the smiles of her people are truely peaceful and humanistic. I've got a good lession from viewing your pictures: everything must have its good and bad side depending on how one approaches it. Many thanks for sharing. Best Wishes, Shing

I read a brilliant book about Afghanistan called "an unexpected light", by Jason Elliot. Your photos illustrate that light - from the light reflected in brilliant blue seas and skies, to the light in the eyes of the people you met. Lovely album, it makes me want, even more, to see it for myself!

Hi Agustinus, Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful pictures of Afghanistan. Your portrayal is so vivid that I almost feel as if I have been there. Clearly it is a land with a very strong national character and it is nice to see a side of it not connected with the war. Best wishes, Kathryn Jones (South Shields, England)

The tall niche in the cliff used to have a Buddha in it that was carved centuries ago, a national treasure of art. But the Taliban fired automatic weapons at it and shattered it.

Hello Agustinus, You are very brave to have made such a good reportage on a Country which is not for the moment a dreamed destination! I was amazed when discovering each picture and the awesome beauty of the Buddhist site which enclosed heritage wonders of that Country that have disappeared for ever for all the world; Human madness has no limits! Thank You for this very interesting reportage, for the rich and educative captions, for this views of hope and congratulations for the so well deserved feature, Jacques CLEMENT Paris FRANCE

Hi, congratulations on your featured album. These pictures seem puzzling and inconsistent. By most aspects, the scenes appear as if they could have been captured anytime in the last 1000 years and yet the present, in the form of coke bottles and land mines, rips through to make itself felt. Beautiful and yet disturbing! Thank you from Florida, Paul

Hi.. I visited your page because you left a message on my Laos page. Thanks for visiting mine, though your photos are much better. Sorry you had a bad experience in Muang Xien, Vietnam. I'm not sure my hotel proprietor was 100% honest but I was treated well by the rest of the townspeople... Take care!
