Album Description:
An incredible hike in the wilderness between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea, the perfect getaway of all times. Being in the West Bank, this area is not a conventional hiking destination for most of us, but being mostly uninhabited, it didn't make a difference

Really a very impressive experience Orly! The only tree that I see is the palm in Nebi Musa; I know .... you walk in a desert, but it's so exotic (:-)) for me ! I like mainly shots from Kidron river (a bit of water please!) and your landscapes (like 82). The macro are as usual great and the best is 60 in my opinion. In conclusion .... really a good virtual hike for me with my Israel prefered guide! The only part that I don't love is the Ezra Fondue... I don't have eat it, but I think that my loved spaghetti are Better!! If a day I will go in Israel I will take them with me .... it's better I think :-D. I hope that Ezra don't will be angry about my judgement; you know GREAT cooks are so susceptibles..... Have a NICE week (If you have digest the fondue it will be possible)!! :-) CIAOOOO from Italy Ruggero

Hi Orly, Congratulations to this wonderful album. The desert is so special in spring when covered with a thin green carpet. There are many favorite pictures for me: I like that Lunch site picture with Eitan and those close-ups on the fire, the Rocks (78) and the views of the Dead Sea!!!!!!! :)!!!!, especially 55 and 91. That 72 Macro is amazing and then I found my favorite flower, the Kaper flower (Capperis spinosa). I didn't expect to see it in that area. I saw it when I first came to Israel - as a tourist - it was in spring and it grew in Jerusalem in the Western Wall that was a "never forget view". The bud of the Kaper is a delicates - what a pity to miss the flower! Orly, you truly made my day! - Galit

Hi Orly, "חג שמח" to you too, actually I'm kind of busy too, the preparations for Erev Pessah and my jobs are keeping me busy. We will have a Seder with about 30 people at my place. I love that, but there is much to do.....! I hope after that I will have some time with my computer a l o n e to relax, maybe even time for a new album. Sorry I write you all the time in English, that is much easier for me, I hate to write in Hebrew but do not have problems to read it. Where do you go next time with the Hug Elad? - Galit

Hi Orly, I am having so much trouble with Webshots...it's taking FOREVER to try to view pictures and these look like they are WONDERFUL!!! I will definitely have to come back when I have more time as this is an album that I am very interested in!!! For now, I just want you to know that you and your country have been very much in my thoughts and my prayers. As a Christian, I feel that we have real kindred spirits. I know that you are God's chosen people and somehow that makes so many in the world take a hostile stance towards you. Please know that there are many people praying for God's protection and hand of mercy towards his people. I just wanted you to know as there seem to be pictures and stories every day on our news that bring you to mind. Stay safe and be very blessed, Lynn

Hi Orly, I managed to get back and view this entire album and it really is wonderful. You are so good at showing the sites and giving us the interesting information that helps us to understand what we are looking at! Although much of your country reminds me visually of the area that I live in, your country is incredibly rich in history! Thank you for the time and effort that you put into all your albums! Great job!!! Lynn

Hi Orly! Tuda Rava. Thanks for the guestbook entry from March 28. You were the first person in the World to congratulate me. That means a lot. Sorry for the late response. I was out of the country on business travel for 10 days when I was featured. What a pleasure to know that one of my albums was chosen for the day. Yes, I agree with Webshots choice. Take care and have a nice weekend. Majed

Hi Orly, these excellent photos bring back many memories because I also, many years ago, traveled through the area of the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea, as well as around most of Israel. Unfortunately, I don't have many good photos to show for it. Best regards. Lowell

Hello from Michigan, USA! You have so many beautiful photos in this album. My favorites are: Jerusalem viewed from North-East ירושלים, and: Jericho, The Oldest City in the World יריחו. You added so much information in the captions and I appreciated that very much. It made it that much more interesting. Thank you. Candi

Hi Orly ! This is going to be a long entry, so brace yourself ! The pictures are truly impressive. Some really awesome. I have always wondered what Jericho, the dead sea and the Judean desert looked like. Now I have an idea thanks to your pictures. # 13, the desert is more graphic than I couls have imagined. Hunza is so charming and innocence personified. Beautiful picture! I am afraid of heights, so "Etan having lunch" #27 churned my stomach ! 33 and 37 gives me an idea how dangerous the hike was! The caves are such an impressive sight and reek of history ! 36 is just Wow, wow ! Lovely to see Caper flowers where you expect to see none. The Judean desert 79 and the sunset at Moab complete the picture. I am so happy that I viewed this album. Must have been quite an experience. An exhilirating one at that ! Thank you for sharing. Cheers, Suresh

Hi Orly! Yes you are right about the word' quaint' I had never thought of it. I have changed it to more appropriate 'charming' !!!! In my younger days I had travelled extensively in India, but was not into photography at that time. Sad ! I should make a conscious effort to capture India in pictures ! Quite a daunting task !!! Cheers, Suresh

Thank you for sharing these photos with us. I really have enjoyed them! Photos like these make biblical accounts come to life in the minds of us who may never get the opportunity to see these places in person. Thank you again.
