We had the same idea with the lillypilly berries because I took a couple of pics of our tree which is covered with berries right now. Have yet to post it to webshots. Did you get a pic of the sunset last night? I dont know what it was like down there but it was just fantastic up here. Peter

Gladys, I thank you for visiting my latest album "A Matriarch in the Deep Woods" and leaving some nice comments, but as anyone would have it, there were quite a few questions as to the 'why' this tree was cut down at the time, so I'll try to explain. I've changed my introduction a bit and this is how it reads now on my site: Born in 1493; Cut in 1989; Ring Count 496; Acres in cut: 40. Trees per acre at time of cut: 1,200. Seedlings planted after cut: 27,200. Bottom line: Sustained yield is what a forest can produce in perpetuity at a given intensity of forest management without impairing the land’s productivity. The huge fir was undoubtedly the 'mother' of all the rest of the 1,200 trees within this area, but it has now been replaced with 27,200 seedlings. A 20 minute video was taken, but it took a mere twelve minutes to put this huge tree on the ground. There was nothing wrong with the tree, it was just time to exchange it with more. Thanks again for your visit. With best regards. Ron/Oregon Coast

Hi Gladys, I wondered, are those lillyplly berries edible? Thanks for the tourist-tour through Fremantle. It's a bit too far away to visit, sadly, but this way it feels like a visit. Thank you for your comments on my featured Iceland album. The feature was a real surprise. Hanna

Hi Gladys: YOu have a very creative eye for the right angle and beautiful compositions in your pics. I will be back to have a more detailed look at your other albums. Thanks also for visiting my featured Wildlife Album and for your comments in my guestbook. Those seagulls swam around for a long time waiting to get a shot at that starfish when the tide went out. Nature is so amazing. Enjoyed your pics. Thanks for sharing. Don/BC, Canada

Hello Gladys! We are very interested in such hisorical places. The most beautiful for us: the Round House with the old stone walls! Wonderful Ocean views, beautiful Town Hall and Church! And, of course, we love the Australian plants! Thanks for sharing! Thanks also for your two last guestbook comments: in to-day's feature and from August 11 with the two links! We found the pictures and interesting comments on Hollyhock and Hibiscus. Best wishes! Henri and Käthi

Hi Gladys: I enjoyed your album on Fremantle a lot and your great tour of the city. I can't get over how big that fig tree is! And I was taken by the lillypilly berries. I have never heard of them. When I was a kid, we used to have a flowering crab tree on our front lawn that had VERY sour berries that looked similar. They also made good jam and jelly but were not very good eating. Thanks for stopping by my Napa Valley album yesterday and taking the time to sign the guestbook. It is so nice to hear from all the wonderful people that make up the Webshots community! All the best, Ken - Maryland

Hello again Gladys, many thanks for visiting my featured history album yesterday. Now able to view a bit of your history! Just sad I will not be viewing it this year in real life. Love the album & in that St Johns church photo I think I detect elements of the features of some Norman doorways in old UK churches. Eric
