The photos of USMCAS El Toro have brought tears to my eyes... my daddy was in the "old corps." from 1938-1960 and I went to nursery school at El Toro, while my mom worked as an accountant in one of the old civil service buildings. So many memories of my childhood and later great Fridays at the enlisted club with friends. I'm almost glad I moved away from southern Cali in '98... I couldn't stand hearing about the base closure. I still have a piece of broken glass from one of the old barrack windows...Thank you for your photos of an amazing place and bringing to the fore, my most cherished memories.

I cannot understand how MCAS El Toro could be left for ruin. It seems no pride exists in Southern Ca. We as Americans should preserve all our history, not let it be forgotten. Sakes alive, what are we becoming?
