  • No. Unfortunately, we did not get to the West Side of Kauai. We had planned to but decided at the last minute to spend the day at Anini Beach (on the North Shore) and save the West Side of the island for another trip. Like you, we really fell in love with the Northern Coast. Don't give up on your dreams of visiting the Cooks and other islands of the South Pacific. It may not be expensive as it may seem. Many young people travel there in "backpack&qu ot; fashion, staying in hostels on Rarotonga (for instance) for as little as $8 USD/night. It's a great way to meet lots of other travelers your own age.

  • I spent 9 days of my month stay in the Islands on Kauai. I loved it so much. The north of the island was the most beautiful. Was wondering if you went to Polihale state park beach on the west coast? I loved it as well for its vastness and beautiful backdrop of the beginnings of the Na Pali coastline. I can't wait to someday visit the Cook Islands and French Polynesia. Im still in my twenties so I can't wait to do some more travelling!

  • Of the 2 islands we have been to (Oahu & Kauai), Kauai is my favorite overall, though the windwards shore of Oahu (around Kaneohe Bay) is my favorite part of Hawaii (so far anyway).
