Hi Gloria, you do capture the beauty of the skies of Oregon, these are wonderfully taken. Also want to thank you for visiting my album and leaving such nice comments. On a different venue and due to so many 'why' questions as to the reason the Matriarch was cut down within my latest album, "A Matriarch in the Deep Woods", I feel I should explain some things. I've changed my introduction a bit and this is how it reads now on my site: Born in 1493; Cut in 1989; Ring Count 496; Acres in cut: 40. Trees per acre at time of cut: 1,200. Seedlings planted after cut: 27,200. Bottom line: Sustained yield is what a forest can produce in perpetuity at a given intensity of forest management without impairing the land’s productivity. The huge fir was undoubtedly the 'mother' of all the rest of the 1,200 trees within this area, but it has now has been replaced with 27,200 seedlings. A 20 minute video was taken at the time, but it took a mere twelve minutes to put it on the ground. With best regards. Ron/Oregon Coast
