  • one other thing. How much of the old buildings are still standing? This is the one place I haven't been but I really like the architecture and would like to get some photos of my own.

  • I love your albums. You have captured soe much history in them. I live up in Dresden and really enjoy seeing all of the photos of places I have been to and know.

  • My father lives in this area and does some volunteer work for the mental health committee or whatever they call it. He took me there several years ago and I wanted to take pictures, but I didn't have the nerve to go all around it and take the pictures that you did. All my life, I heard horror stories about it. We called it Bolivar and every time you heard the name, you'd get wide eyed. Anyway, I totally loved seeing this. Thanks and keep up the good work!

  • To smr2828, there is still some amount of use of the hospital. I would think any records would still be there. Steven

  • I was admitted here as a child in the 80's. Does anyone know how I can get my records from the boliver asylum? I really need/want to see them. I was so sad and over medicated at this place. I even ran away. Was caught and put back in days later. :(
