Yes you are right about Oki's tourist situation due to 9-11. My first visit was at 19 yrs old. I remember sitting at LAX airport waitng for my first flight there, hearing the old hands telling me that you live in the jungle, mail once a week, women in grass skirts,etc lol. I was never so happy to see a Mc Donalds in my life :) One thing that I noticed during my first trip there was the level of customer service lots of the stores had, and there was things to do late at night in town also.

thanks for visiting my page. Yes, you are right about it being so different now. By the photos that I have seen all over the web, it looks to have really become a robust vacation spot. If I ever get a chunk of cash together I would love to do an extended visit on the island again.
