Hi Laura, Now I feel like I've visited with you. It must be a wonderful place to live....I was excited to hear from you! To answer you questions, Boris, Natashia and Buddy are foster Geese. I have been feeding them and their friends and their offsprings for eight years now. They actually live down the lane next to a little pond. There are "Hundreds" of Canadians, (that's why they don't have names) All the photographs were taken from my property. The Geese bring their babies over to show them off every Spring. I enjoy all animals, guess you can tell from my albums. Thanks for making me feel so special! I haven't been called cute since.....I don't remember. With Love, Your Friend Barb

Hi Laura; What a beautiful place lyou have. It looks like a park and I know that a property like your does not come by accident. It takes a constant effort to keep things from getting out of hand, let alone as beautiful as yours. I used to have acreage at my last home, in fact, I also had a nursery called "Windflower Farm" and my specialties were Old Garden rose and English rose, perennials and garden ornamentation. We also had chickens and Dachshunds. That seems a lifetime ago, but seeing your beautiful yard, I can nearly smell the wonderful smells of a well tended garden and remember the very special hours I spent there. Thank you for sharing this lovely album with us. Best Wishes, Marjie

Hi Laura, i came back for another look at your home place and i think it's even nicer then i thought it was last time. You have a lovely place and your camera takes such great photos. No problem about calling me Claudia, i get that sometimes. I guess cause it's kind of close. By the way i was at Jean's when she opened her email from you and i just wanted you to know that i wasn't a teenager in that picture, but thank you for that. I was at least 31. It was a very nice compliment though. Thank you for the g/b entries my friend. Take care....Hugs....Claudette

Hi Laura, How happy You are to live in a wild place of the beautiful Oregon State; Some pictures are great and the property seems to be vast and pleasant; Where is it? We paid a visit in June 2005 to a good Webshots Friend, Trudy Hamilton living in Newport )as hamiltrudy on Webshots); Have a look to the 3 albums posted on this trip for the moment under pfjc2 called Totem Poles, Cascade volcanoes wildernesses & Butchart Gardens: I am very late with my last trips images); The pictures of Your album are also relaxing; Thank You for Your visit and for the message let in my Indochina album; I am happy to have now one more Friend in Oregon! Neat place - I can tell you've put alot of work into it! I can relate to the blackberry bushes - I spent alot of time as a kid clearing them from down by our creek (not fun!). You must be in S.Oregon somewhere? We live up North in Wilsonville (about 20 miles south of Portland). After viewing your photos, I'm definitely going to need to do some exploring down your way! It looks beautiful there!

Hi Laura, another visit to see this magnificent place you live. Oregon & Pacific Nth West will always be special places for us following our very brief visits. Your comment about the blackberry bushes amused me as that is exactly how our plot was when we bought it 28 years ago, blackberry's 10 feet tall & 2.5" thick. Had to get a tractor in with a "swipe" on, to back into it & mow it down in order to see what we had. It all pays off in the end as they say! Eric

Hey Laura, I'm not sure where you are located, but I love your place...your work...and all of your animals!~ You are very artistic, and a wonderful soul. I sense that through your work and your animals. You are Blessed!~ I have been enjoying your albums all morning. I have had all types of animals myself and have always wanted to have ragdolls. We also rescue animals. My dream would be to have a ranch/farm with alpacas, and lots of other animals, gardens etc. Love and light your way, Irene

Hi Laura, I came to visit as you requested. Your timing was perfect as only yesterday did we return from a trip to France. Unfortunately before that a lot of my time and energy was taken up with family illness and subsequent bereavement so, unfortunately, I had more to think about than photography. However back to the pics. Mine were done by stitching several pictures together in Photoshop. Each one of the Panoramas so far has between four and seven seperate pictures to make up the complete view. Is that how yours are done? I'm going to have have to make this a quick visit as its the first day back at work today and I have lots to do. Hopefully though I will be a more frequent visitor and contributor again now. Will be getting some of the French pictures uploaded as soon as I have sorted them and then later in the year I have a trip to Malaysia planned so I'm hoping to bring back a few from there too. So, bye for now, I'm glad you keep calling by for a look, best wishes Mike.

Hi Laura, Good to hear from you again. It has been a few months at least for me. My wife and I took a job caretaking a cemetery south of here AFTER retirement, keeps us out of doors, in the sunshine and in good shape at the same time. Do like this album of Our Home Place. Its just super. Your acreage is quite large, I can see where you get most of your pictures. Seven of us just got back from camping at Fish Lake, just a bit east of you the early portion of Sept. Gotta run. Thanks for your email. Now you know why I haven't been around much these days. Best regards. Ron

Laura - your place is just wonderful. I am so jealous. I think if I live to be 1000 I will never get this place whipped into shape. The environment here is so harsh & hostile. Nothing like what I was used to back Home in WNY. I can't even imagine what your place is like in person - Lynn mentions it is PRETTIER ?!?! Wow. I'm so jealous. Love & Hugs - Pat

Where did you plant the Wisteria? I don't remember seeing it. The lava beds here in K. Falls are most likely from Shasta or from the Lava Beds area. There were a lot of places there that erupted creating massive lava flows. Your place is much prettier in person. Lynn

Hi Laurie. Please tell me what it's like to live in Heaven?. Congratulations for getting the place looking like you have. You must be so proud of yourselves. To tell the truth I'm gobsmacked. I started jotting down things to comment on but I would be here all day. If I was here at your property I would be happy to stay forever but I'm only here in the guesbook. One photo I will mention is the 2nd to last, the photo of your house with Sunset Mountain in the background is a beauty. Thankyou so much for sharing your pride and joy with me. I absolutely love the place. Catch you later my friend. Hugs and best wishes. Al.

Hello Laura and greetings from Kentucky. I have heard Oregon is so pretty. Your views from your home are spectacular. It looks to me your hard work has paid off. My hard work is behind me now, but I have other work that along with my photography, I enjoy. I wish I could meet some of the many nice folks on here, and tell each one, that what we have to look foward to in this life, just rots, rusts, and decays. If what you have shown us, is any indication of what God has in store for the Godly. Then what a wonderful world it will be. Take care my friend, and set your sights on the road ahead, there is where the treasure is... Darrell

Laura, while looking at your featured album, I could not help but look at your others. This album is beautiful. What area of Oregon do you live in? I would say somewhere in the Cascades? We just moved to K. Falls about a month ago from the Idaho panhandle, via Montana, via California. I am originally from Washington, just north of Seattle, so Oregon has been a stomping ground for many many years. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Your photography definitely show "pride in ownership!" Lynn, K. Falls, Oregon

Your garden is delightful, especially the 'Bird House Garden' which is soooo pretty. And I just LOVED your 'Oldest Fir Tree', it's just wondeful. Glad to hear you liked my Stratford album. I went again this week to get more photos, which I have added to this album. Maybe you'd like to take a peek at them when you get time. Have also added more spring flowers too. Take care. Hi Laura, Loved the new additions, but my favorite is still the old fir tree down by the river. It's one of those photographs that make you go aaahhhhhhh! I would love to be sitting there with a picnic basket. We actually had some sunshine this week, so I got out and went to two of my favorite neighborhoods. If you have time, check out my Kimmswick and Kirkwood albums...or maybe you already did. I can't remember anything anymore...lol. Anyway, I always look forward to your new photos. Take care. Hi Laura, and thanks for your encouraging comments to my Swedish landscape albums. I have visited some of your albums, and I must say that I am impressed by the nature in your surroundings, and the way you captured the sence of it. I would really like to visit Oregon some time. You asked about an account name of mine: andersselander - it is just my name Anders Selander. And the name Anderson is a very common nsurame in Sweden, perhaps the most common...(and Andersen in Norway and Denmark). It is just the name of a son of Anders. In fact the oldest aunt of mine Klara (married Andersson) emigrated to Ferndale Washington. And I have quite a number of cousins in the western US... Thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures. And I wish you all the best for 2005. Anders from Jamtland, Sweden.

Laura, the Roosevelt Bulls picture was just a lucky find. During a portion of the year, the bulls gather in one area, the cows in another. These 'boys' looked like they were shooting the breeze with not a care in the world. Was driving by this wildlife area and just happened to spot them and a couple of pictures later, I had this one to show. Still in velvet, still early in the year. Appreciate your comments on my site, come back anytime and visit. Ron Oregon Coast

My dear Laura you are far too kind but your praise does me good! I am just very fortunate that some of my photographs turn out well. The 'aerial' photos were taken from the tower seen in pictures - Sissinghurst 2 & 3. I too love old buildings and enjoy visiting them but I would also like to see your country and many others. In the past I have travelled to lots of different places but didn't get to the USA. Now unfortunately my health is such that I can't travel abroad so I content myself with seeing the beautiful places in my own country. Dorothy.

The garden is 9yrs old and was just a rough piece of ground when we moved here. None of the plants get any special treatment except for the ercaceous plants which don't like limey soil. These are grown in pots or in special raised beds we have created. This island is where Portland Stone comes from and is made up of limestone. Apart from that the only thing we have done is given them all a good start with rich fertile soil when they were planted. The Clematis are now well established and only need to be trimmed back to keep them tidy. The Echiums are astounding plants, the close up photo is of the actual flowers. They are biennial so they grow one year to about 3ft then in the second year shoot up to about 15ft and are covered in those tiny blue flowers. Then they die! But leave behind loads of seedlings which we grow on as replacements.I do hope that has answered your questions. Please feel free to ask any others you wish. Dorothy.

Thanks for the lovely comments on the trees that we had taken out of our yard. I am getting used to it. They came out because they had been leaning closer to the house and as our windows are new within the last year we did not want them damaged. I thought of you the other day when I saw a different type of planting of flowers on the internet. Did you ever hear of layered planting? You dig a hole 12" deep plant your tulips (after dipping them in water then cayenne pepper) with a later blossom time, cover with about 2" soil and plant daffodils with a blossom time of before the tulips, top with 2" of soil them plant crocus. This way you get more blooms out of a smaller area. Interesting. The cayenne pepper wards off deer, squirrels and other animals. Janet

Hi Laura! Thanks for putting the trees in perspective. They are all gorgeous, so are the surroundings. Yes, I am an Indian and live in Madras in the southern part of India. It is a big port town on the eastern coast. I will come back to your albums. I want to look at all of them. You have great talent. Thanks for sharing all these beautiful pictures. Best wishes, Suresh

Hello Laura! Wow, you live here? In this sylvan surroundings? This is really beautiful. I could walk around this place for hours together and I love walking. You have captured the environment so sensitively. I like all the pictures, especially the pond in the spring and Pasture's entrance. Is it an old oak? I love the Fall colours too. Thank you for sharing these outstanding photos. Thank you too for the appreciative comments on my featured album. Keep well. Greetings. Suresh

Dear Laura, you DO live far from the maddening crowds!!! A God-blessed place, so it comes out from your photos! My MOST favourites are Nos.24 and 25, the shots of the "oldest fir tree"! I also liked: The Old Pear Tree; The Beauty of Fall; Pond in the Spring. Thanks for coming by and looking at my albums. Now I can find you easily when I want to return and see your shots again. Also, when you put out a new album, please let me know by mail: gabrielatanaka2000@yahoo. co.uk Again, when you have time available, please come and have a look at my Flowers Bazaar. Who knows??? You might find a photo that you like and I'll be very happy to add your name next to your choice.Friendly greetings from Gabriela in Japan
