Hi-I lived and worked on Masirah 1993-1999. Worked for BAE on the base and used to run the Watersports Club. Many great memories and good friends.Great bar at BERS and AWV plus the WSC links with Turtle Beach Golf Club. Would love to revisit to see the changes

Hi. I was one of the 3 12-month shift managers in 1972. Have a lot of pictures at http://citiria.com/citipub/masirah-pics.html and more than those, yet to be scanned. I'm also writing about my year there at another location on my site. Does anyone have any pics of the Beryl transmitter I can add? And does anyone know the names of any of the many DWS staff in my shots? Anyone know Ted Hull, Charlie Harman, Harry Henselaer, the Goan cooks, and others? Best wishes Clive

Wow, the memories. I was there from Jan-Oct 76, working in the Medical Centre. Hated the place when I arrived, didnt want to leave at the end (ok sad i know) Made some great freinds, RAF, Army, Civi, and nationals.... Love to go back one day. remember passing time most evenings playing football, medical centre took no prisioners. Barry Moult

My wife Lizzie and I were stationed at BERS in 1989-90. We have very fond memories of our time on Masirah and of the people I worked with and the people we met whilst there. It was lovely to see photos. If anyone would like to contact me on dgbourd@aol.com. Dave and Liz Bourdon

Lovely to see the old place again, I was there in 1976 for a few months (R.A.F.) It didn't have a town at that point, something about not being able to build any permanent structures following the Baron Innerdale incident at the turn of the century. They had started on a hospital though. Is Kimji Ramdas still flogging his Seiko's? I think I've some photo's of the time, if you're interested?. Regards. Nigel

My husband Peter Garner was EIC of BERS in 1985 and we took our three daughters for 8months to the island. It was the most wonderful experience. Spent many a long day "bondu bashing" down to the south west of the island to see the wreck. Lesley

Really enjoy your photography. My favourite in this album is Solitary. Are you in the military or oil? Thelma

Great to see Masirah again. I was at Masirah Dec 1972 to Sept 1973 and worked at the PSD (Petroleum Supply Depot) which was next to the Sailing club. From what I see from the photos, the Island has changed a lot.
