This 12 mile round trip hike in the San Gabriel Mountains gained 2800' in elevation. Part of this trail is also part of the 2200 mile Pacific Crest Trail that runs from Mexico to Canada. The summit of Mt. Hawkins is a bit over 8,000 above sea level. The
