Album Description:
This was a 13 mile RT, 8 hour hike (we're leisurely) to and from Mt. Ontario, a series of bumps and one great peak that runs 8,000 feet plus. The vertical rise is 3600 ft.and it proved to be a fine hike. It is a tough hike, but the scenery is unique an

This was supposed to be a "walk." We ended up at the top of Mt. Ontario..8000+ ASL..13 miles. Tough steep final 3 miles. All trails, Ice House Canyon and the trail from the saddle to Ontario are in good shape. Lots of fallen trees cross the trail and the chaparral is beginning to close over bits and pieces of the upper trail. It was a "fairly" ; clear day in the Riverside County basin area, and we could see well past Ontario airport.
