• Emphatic kudos for this album. Excellent pictures of the flowers in the wild. You muat be an avowed naturalist. You have taken pains to identify the flowers by their botanical names. Thank you. I have not yet seen the other albums in the series, but will do so soon. Thank you, too, for stopping by my 'Climbing Rose' picture and for your words of appreciation. Best wishes, Suresh from India

    • Hello again Gladys, it is remiss of me not to have viewed this album before. You have a great selection of wildflowers here. That blue is amazing & you even have some "flower fields" in. Thankyou for your kind comments on my "summer fields" album. We heard today from a friend of a friend who had spoken to a relative that Perth was having exceptionally cold weather. Hope it is not too cold for you, we are opposite here exceptionally hot! & not prepared for it! Eric

    • Hi Gladys, I'm glad that you've had a lot of action on this old album lately. It deserves it. You have very beautiful and very unusual wildflowers images here. For beauty and uniqueness, I love those "Lilac Hibiscus". I also like those Stromatolites which I think are some of the most primitive life around. And those pinnacles, how deep do they go? Are they monoliths or are they somehow connected under the ground/sand? I know, I know – A lot of questions. Well, I’m just a curious person. What can I tell you! Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. Thank you for your kind words on my Pandas album. I still have some pictures of some reptiles (including a snake-necked turtle from your neck of the woods) and some large cats yet to be published from that trip, but I’m hopelessly behind on my correspondence.

    • Sorry it took a bit for me to get back to you. I am glad you like my blog. I have been writing it mainly for myself as I do not appear to have much of an audience. I am the favorite of only one person and there's no friends or anything else like that to my albums. I therefore do not have much trouble with people asking me questions about it. It is true that dialup would be an issue and I tend to create for broadband because that is what I am on. The blog should not have been trying to put anything on your PC. If the popup blocker stopped something it probably would have been a pop-up advertisement, but I do not thing blogspot (a free blog hoster) puts popups on their client pages. I don't know what it would have been, but let it keep blocking it. I would not mind joining their team if (and ONLY if) they are headed in the direction I think they need to be going in. Catch up with you soon.

    • Thanks for your congrats on the blog feature. Naturally it was a big surprise and even more so was the surprise I had at just how many people look at the blogs nowadays - a far cry from the end of last year when it seemed no one knew about them. Keith was also asking whether I had a new camera but the answer is no. The reason for the differences is that the pics were taken on two days and on the second day I was using a neutral density filter, which tends to warm the photos up a bit. I always had it on my old Nikon film camera and since taking those beach shots I now keep it on my digital camera nearly all the time, just occasionally switching to a skylight filter when the conditions call for it. I hope this latest cyclone behaves itself and doesn't decide to come straight down - I see another flood warning has been issued for the Murchison so chances are Kalbarri isn't out of the mire yet. Also just heard on the radio that the cyclone watch has been extended south to Jurien Bay, which is a bit too close for comfort! Take care,Peter

Beautiful photos in a wonderful album and I especially love the way you intersperse the flowers with the scenic shots! will come back to have a further look around as I think I haven't been to this album before (don't know how I managed to miss it!). Thank you very much for your comments in my featured album today - I really appreciate it! It's taking me a while to get back to people though! I've been a bit chicken driving into 12 foot snow areas as I've never used tire chains before...there's always a first time to learn a survival trick Keep checking now and then as I will be adding winter photos indefinately. I long to return to Colorado...also, Alberta and Montana. Stay cool and have a wonderful Christmas!

I've had quite a lot of people wanting to know what the countryside was like in our part of the world and hopefully this will answer their questions. • Hello Gladys, I enjoyed this album, more especially to the surprises: dolphins and ancient steam engines in what I extected to be a wildflower album. Further, most of your flowers are NAMED! and correctly I assume. I never learned even the common names of most flowers which forced me to buy a copy of the "National Audubon Society Field Guide to Wildflowers: Western Region" to provide a better name than "white, red, pink" to the blossoms I usually photograph along with whatever major theme we are , pursuing. Of course, I cannot promise I'm using the identification section correctly. But enough; you ask what cameras we use. I have a Minolta A1 and my better half a Canon Powershot S1 IS. Both has a close-up feature, so we can try your aquarium technique. And thank you for your kind comments on our "Sandia Mts" album. Ed/Albuquerque like you I usually have

I would love to come to Australia during the wildflower season but am so terribly prone to jetlag that any trip under 4 weeks would no doubt result in me being unconscious two thirds of my stay and, since I also happen to be a school teacher, this only leaves August. Thanks to your pictures I can at least enjoy the flora vicariously!! I'm glad you approved of my jerky shots of Perth, by the way. :-D Hugs, Christine

What a nice surprise to see your message as my very first guestbook entry. Most of the photos in my collection were taken where i live and at one of the local wildlife parks here in Tenerife, which is one of the Canary Islands, just off the NW coast of Africa. So as you can guess, we have a great climate for all these lovely flowers. I must say you have some wonderful photos in your collection too. Keep up the good work and i'll look forward to seeing more from you in the future. Glad you liked my Work too. Once again, thanks for being the first to sign my guest book. All the very best. Ray. P.S. I also have another album of Animals, which you may like to take a look at if you get the chance or the time. I am very proud of some of them and I hope you enjoy looking at them. • Hello Gladys!Wowweeee! This is one mighty album you have created here!Aren't the wildflowers truely wonderful, such an amazing sight! The photos of the Dolphins are sooo good to see too and the pinnacles are really striking and quite different to anything I would see here.Thankyou for all of your lovely messages,I have to explain that with 'Autumn Palette' I didn't want any words distracing from the glorious sights that this season privides us with -I just wanted the vibrancy to arrange itself as if paints on the Artists palette -This is not something I usually do apart from 'Moongate Fantasy'but of course I wrote names on the base of each cameo there so that it would appear as a floral print. So my friend there is the explanation and I am sorry if you feel I have made the wrong decision!!!:0)I just want to try to have diversity and a surprise element in each of my albums too and they are a varied bunch LOL :0)!!!!!!!!! • Hi Gladys, I love the way you've combined so many wonderful wildflower shots with a tour through some of Western Australia's great tourist attractions. A tremendous album and an enjoyable virtual tour. Many thanks for your input into My Neighbours' Gardens album. The flowers' names have been updated. To answer your question about the Christmas Bush. It starts out as a bush, and grows into a decent sized tree. I've added a photo of a Christmas Bush at the end of that album for you. I was talking with the owner of the house, as I had to go into his yard to take close up shots of his flowers. He told me that his Christmas Bush was 40 years old. The photo was taken at the end of last November. These bushes reach a glorious peak, and then fade pretty rapidly. This one hadn't reached its peak, and I never got back to take a better shot. Hope that adds some interest for you. Thanks for your interest and support, Keith.

    • Thanks Gladys for the guest book note and welcome back to the fold. I hope you enjoyed your time away and from the forecasts it looked as though the weather was reasonably kind to you. I now look forward to a detailed report but in the meantime you will have already discovered the hang up we have been experiencing with Webshots - hopefully to be all back in order by mid week. best wishes Peter

    • Thank you for signing my guestbook Sunday (12/20/04) when Webshots featured my - It Is All Good - album. Webshots has certainly grown up since I first joined this site back in 2000. It has become such an international site. It is wonderful. Who signed my guestbook: 3 from Australia, 3 from England, 2 from the Netherlands, 2 from Italy, 4 from Canada, 2 from Finland, , 1 from Japan, Lebanon, Belgium, Malasia, Germany, and Madrid, 14 from the USA (2 of whom are my home town and I do not know them), 2 who have been so many places I could not tell where they were from and one complete mystery person Pierre. I would like to venture out into the world. So if any of you want to do some emailing for a while to swap information about our cultures, I would really be interested in that. We have one thing in common obviously. Photography.! We could learn a lot talking to each other and asking questions about what we see in each others photos. My email is …. Liven4Fotoz@yahoo.com. Cultural diversity is so great. Merryeb in California, USA

You can't look in any direction without being blown away be the beauty! It seems that you and I both share a passion for wildflowers...and you have many varieties that I have never seen! In addition, you have some very unique formations on your beaches and I'm impressed by the fact that the dolphins come right in to the shore and mix with the people! What fun!!! Keep on taking those great shots! Have a wonderful Christmas & may God bless you, Lynn

    • G'day to ya! Thanks for coming to see my album and leaving such a nice comment! Interested in seeing all of your collections! Went through this one and loved the shots of the Pinnacles. Went to Perth a couple years ago and did a whole driving tour up and down the coast stretching up to Monkey Mia. While we went up that way we were planning on stopping by the Pinnacles but ran out of time sadly! :( Seeing your amazing shots just convinced me even more that I need to get over there again to see those awesome rock formations!!! I loved my visit to Perth and hope to get back there soon! Some of those wildflowers are really interesting as I never heard of some of them before! Thanks for sharing and wish you all the best! Smiles, :)

    • Hi Gladys, What a wonderful eclectic collection! I particularly like those blue flowers (Blue Leschenaultia). Do they usually grow in scattered shrubs or in fields of the. They must be an awesome sight. And those pinnacles! I have never seen anything like them before. They look like something left behind from a pre-historic world. Thanks, Paul in Florida. P.S. Thanks for your recent kind words on a couple of my albums. The weather here has turned magnificent - days in the mid 80s (30 C) and nights in the mid 60's (18 C) with very low humidity. After an almost total absence, I have finally been able to return home to stay.

    • Oh Gladys!!! I've only jst been through this magnificent 1st Wildflower Country album and have SO much to say, had to get a note in to you before I view the other four. 1)Island Rock is awesome. 2)ALL the Everlastings are glorious, in particular the pink ones are a MUST Dwnload, it's thrilling on my flat panel. 3)Wooleen sunset, astounding!! And the Spider Orchid takes my breath away...The Sandplains Flora has such precise detail, along with the purple Dampiera. Hey, in the photo 030 of Pinnacles, the one on the right looks like a giant owl :> Thanx much for your comments on my Autumn album, although I remain quite disappointed with the quality of those photos. Here's a hug online {{{{Gladys}}} and here's to my anticipation of viewing the remainder of this quality photography. These deserve to be FEATURED! Many Thanx to you for sharing. • Hi Gladys, How beautiful are your wildflowers, and beautifully photographed. And those 'pinnacles', What are they? They look like the remains of a petrified forest. Can't wait to find out! If this album is a preview, I'm agog to see the rest of them in the series. My special favorites were 28, and 29, Of everlastings. Have taken them for screen savers, (Which I watch through most nights before I go to bed.) A collection of my favourite pictures. Hard to make a choice though, a thoroughly enjoyable album... I shall definately be back. I send you best wishes from UK. Sheila.

    • Hi Gladys and back and what a Breathtaking album of some more of Aussie beauty!! You certainly excel at capturing it and all the wonderful wildflowers!! I was spellbound, and started a list....but, it would just enbrace them all! These ones really stood out to me 071dampiera,African Tulips, Plume Smokebush, 029 Pinnacles Pinyuru, 258 Everlastings, Banksia Lilac Hibiscus photos and on and on and on....I just loved the fields of wildflowers...I viewed them on the desktop and the album was just all awesome!! The stunning pinnacles...WOW!! they are like stone men, and the one that I really loved was 029 with the wild grass growing beside it...Just a great composition...I was totally impressed with the Plume Smokebush, and how exquisitely beautiful is that!! Geez I better reply to one a day, as I shall just keep raving on! I am definitely an Aussie woman, as we do love a chat hey...Lol!! 015 Mixed Wildflowers is very beautiful with that vibrant green in the background sweeping across, and I sure would love to be walking up that road! You must have had a wonderful time and how fabulous are the Pinnacles!! They are just amazing, and I was totally intrigued by 272 Water Sculptured Stromatolites!! Mate are they just wonderful, and kinda look like old Chocolate Eclairs if you know what I mean. Anyways Gladys, you have done a marvellous job as usual, and are a fantastic child of Aussie nature and capturing it's beauty!! Thank you soo much for sharing this that I dream to see in the near future!! I totally loved them all, and the sweeping seascape was beautiful!! Take care....Em

    • Hi Gladys, well WOW!! Yippee I am the first.to sign..LOL!, Being cheeking as I just had a quick peruse as have to bolt, and am thrilled that you have all these new albums...so that means...I shall need a good bit of time, so shall begin in the morning to browse and view the beautiful flowers and those magic Pinacles and all your other adventures!! This is exciting, as your work is always just soo beautiful, and looks like I am in for a wonderful treat, and BTW tks for comments re the Trees in my Save the Trees Album!! We DO need to save the trees, and my g/f who was holidaying in Tasmania months back, said it bought tears to both her boyfriends and her eyes, at the sight of the big lorries carrying trees that one tree alone... covered the width of a big truck...and the fires burning, and the logging coming out of these ancient forests!! Shame on the greedy ones! The Politicans think we are fools...and those great olde trees are soo ancient! (quote) "Two hundred years of logging and clearing have reduced old growth regions to only 13 percent of their original extent," Law said. "Yet these giants are still being destroyed by ruthless clearcutting." Gondwanaland times!! Anyways enough of that and Gladys I shall be back, bees knees, in the mornin to see these beautiful flowers!! I have ALWAYS wanted to see the wildflowers of W.A.....so expect more messages from me k!! Take care dear friend.....and have a really great day...!! Em
