What a great place! There is a video called "Railway to the Moon" that gives a good over view on subject. Don't know if Webshots notifies about entries on homepage message board, but I put some comment there. Have a good night!

Hello Ken, I enjoyed the trip together with you. In July we took a trip in Hakone (lots of mountains and a beautiful lake) and got on a little train (not steam) resembling Swiss mountain trains. It moved forward and backward and again forward and I didn't see much of the landscape. So next trip we took the bus, by far much better.I came to thank you for the kind message you left at my feature with roses, which was very much appreciated. Best regards from Gabriela

I love your photos. I am an aspiring artist. Would you mind if I used some of your photos to paint? I live in the desert, so don't see so many green trees and flowers. my email is flintshirecorgis@yahoo.co m Thanks in advance if it is ok. Judi

Hi Ken: we love old and new railways (explanation: we are of Swiss origin!), and your excellent pictures are a kind of gift for us! It must be a particularly impressive experience to climb up Mt. Washington! A chance that thanks to these old machines and the people who entertain them, we can from time to time move back some hundred years or more! Thanks for this fine sequence! And thanks also for your kind remarks concerning the Pyrenean doorknockers. We hope that we can add new samples next year. - Take care! Kaethi and Henri

I just returned from Maine and Nova Scotia. We toured Mt. Washington. It was great weather with clear skies when we started the tour but by the time we got to the top, it was so foggy and started to rain so hard you could barely see the road. We had fun anyway. Caroline Louisiana USA.

Hello Ken, Thankyou very much for the kind words.Yesterday was hectic, but it is at times like this that makes it all worthwhile. This wonderful album of yours brings back a lot of very pleasant memories. In 1997 before the days of Digital Camera's We drove up to the top of Mt Washington by car. At the top I took a photograph of the Steam train. That photo I scanned and it is the very last picture in my "Ken and Carolynn's World" album have a look and see if it has changed. I will be back to have a look at some more of your albums as soon a I have aittle bit more time. Good Luck Ken From England

Hi Ken! What an interesting and informative album you have created! I have wanted to see Mt.Washington Cog Railroad and take a trip to the top of the mountain like you did, just havn't gotten to it yet! I can't believe the chains that hold the building down. Great shots of the train and all that is involved in getting it to the top! Thanks for sharing with us all..take care..Darlene in Upstate NY
