  • There's a lovely little hotel that is @ 2 minutes walking distance from the ship terminal at Galveston; it's the Harbor House. Go to the website: www.harborhousepier21.com . We stay at the Harbor House Marina with our 33 ft.sailboat; you can see the cruise ships come in and out. This is the the interior (not the Gulf) side of Galveston Island. Don't be put-off by the drilling rigs; the dolphins love them and I've seen more dolphins under the oil rig platforms than we've seen in Monterey Bay. The tallship Elissa is right between Harbor House and the sailing terminal. Check the website; it may be what you need. Have a great trip; we're doing the Canal in Mar. 2006!
