  • Hi Gladys, thanks for inviting me to watch your Queen if the Night pictures in this album. They are very beautiful, but all other pictures are beautiful as well. Indeed your flower is different than mine but has some similarity. You're invited to take a look at My Garden album (search for ykarelic3). I hope you'll like it too. Take care, Yair.

  • Hi Gladys. Many thanks for dropping by the day of my feature and your very kind comments in my g/b. I was so happy to hear from you. Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you. Working full time means I don't have as much time as I'd like to spend on Webshots. Hey, Gladys, you have excelled with this album. Exquisite photos of gorgeous flowers. Isn't the Agapanthus a remarkably beautiful flower? I guess it's winter time for you folks down under. What kind of temperatures do you get? Well, I better plod on with my thankyous. Take care and enjoy your week. Luv n'hugs Jayne xx

  • Hello Gladys! It's a great pleasure to come back in this wonderful flower album! You have excellent cose ups, even from seeds! Before leaving our computer for about two weeks (for vacations in the Pyrenees), we thanks you twice: for the guestbook entry in our trail album, and for your congratulations in the featured album from our daughter Katrin and son-in-law Michel (canonne3100); as they are too busy to write guestbook entries, we are writing... It was their very first album that was featured, but we think, the two folowing albums are better! Love and hugs! Henri and Kaethi

  • Thank you very much for your visit & nice comments on my "Wildflowers of the Southwest" album. You were correct the orange flowers were Galardia, thank you very much for the information. You have a VERY lovely flower collection in this album & have done a GREAT job of photographing them. Keep up the good work & thanks again from New Mexico.

  • Hi Gladys, You have here a beautiful and extensive collection of flowers. I particularly liked the way you photographed those bright yellow Dahlias contrasting against the blue sky - both in perfect exposure. That's not easy. Most often one must choose which to expose for and let the other go, but you managed to capture them both. Congratulations! and thanks for your kind words on my album. When I get bored, I reach for the computer and see how far I can screw-up my pictures. Greetings from Florida, Paul.

  • Hello Gladys, Thanks for the message in my guestbook. You're too kind. I did find this album, after all, and it's exquisite! Talk about some excitement here....when I saw your Queen of the Night! I have one that has managed to bloom only once, and the fragrance was so strong that it almost sickened us, as it was inside. What a fantastic flower! Like you, I took photos of it and have them hidden somewhere. It actually made clicking noises as it opened. Very exciting plant. Too bad the blooms don't last longer. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it called a Night-Blooming Cereus? Now back to the business at hand. You have an amazing collection of flowers and I'm ever so glad that you're sharing them here. Nothing makes my day like viewing images such as yours. You have some marvelous albums! The pleasure has been all mine. Sharon in Virginia.

  • Hi Gladys, thank you for your kind comments in my Flower album and I do appreciate you staying on top of the names I've come up with. #34 still throws me, is a quite-tight bunch of white flowers with a waxy covering, so the three you mentioned, cherry, apple or peach didn't come to mind at the time. Blue Ladies, the Agapanthus flowers were given that name by a neighbor lady, bringing them over one afternoon and planting them in my yard; have changed 'leaves' to 'petals'. You're very good at this naming of flowers-I'll contact you the next time I upload an album of showy flowers. Thanks again for squaring me away. Ron/Oregon Coast

  • Hi Gladys, your flowers are always amazing, you must put a lot of hard work into your garden and your knowledge of whats in it is ASTONISHING! ... I love your Fuchsias there always been one of my favourite flowers and the Hoya Carnosa, I never seen one until the other day when I took a photo of it and had no clue to what it might be, so thank you :-). ... Always a pleasure, Brenda.

  • Gladys, how is it that you know so much about flowers from all over? Must be nice to not have to look them up. When I have a couple, I'll let you know. Caught you ID'ing magikeith's flowers in his latest album, that was lucky for him. Appreciate the time it took for you to update this site. Come by for a visit in my Flower albums, see if I'm correct in my estimates. I'll change the culprit if my names are incorrect. Ron/Oregon Coast

  • Hello Gladys! Such beautiful lillies, impatiens and petunias! Hibiscus are my favorites because they remind me of Hawaii! Thank you for sharing the lovely colours! Keith

  • Hello Gladys, this is a great album, with lovely, bright and colourful pictures. The Agapanthus, the Dahlia twins and the Lace Hydrangea1-3 are my favourites, although I found all pictures really good. I also like the pictures of all sorts of fuchsias very much: the Temptation grows in my garden too, in summer anyway, in winter it hibernates inside the house. If you are interested to see what grows in my garden at home and in my vegetable garden at both sites I have some albums on this subject. Gardening is one of my hobbies. Thanks for sharing, and also thanks for your nice reaction on my recently featured album Frosty World. Have a nice Sunday, Els from Holland (wely246/evanwely)

  • Hello Gladys! We are late to discover the newest albums, now in 'gladysclancy2'! Wonderful shots of so beautiful flowers! Nice Fuchsia collection! We especially like the hibiscus and hydrangea, and we appreciate that you give us all the names!!! We learned from you that our home plants on some windows are Hoya carnosa. We have to come back...! Love and hugs, Henri and Kaethi

  • A Google search revealed that Selenicereus grandiflorus is also know as Moon Cactus, and originates in the Caribbean (Cuba, Jamaica)and/or Mexico. Apparently it can escape from cultivation elsewhere, so should be treated carefully outside its native habitat. "Another disobedient cactus" ;)

  • The Queen of the Night is spectacular. Do you know where it is a native plant?

  • Hello Gladys, you certainly had a good year in your garden. Wonderful blooms and beautiful photos. Thank you for our recent comments, and the name of that wildflower. I've updated the album. I'll be over to photograph your rocks, and the whole darn state, just as soon as I retire :-) Until then, all the best, Keith.

  • Hi Gladys, You have so many gorgeous flowers here! I especially love the bright yellow dahliah against the deep blue sky!! All of your flowers are just wonderful! Our wildflower season is starting about 2 months early here & if rains continue to come along now & again they are predicting that this may be a bloom season like nothing we have ever experienced before! In 2003 we had an exceptional year...yet they are saying that right not some places have at least 10 times the annuals of 2003! We'll see what developes!!! Have a blessed day - Lynn :)

  • Beautiful album Gladys and you have scores of varieties that we have never tried. For some reason we don't have any luck with Dahlias, but we do seem to go quite well with White Agapanthus. Hibiscus, too, grow reasonably well up here but yours look to be just gorgeous. After seeing your Buddleia we are tempted to have a go and now could well be swayed into trying lilies - never grown them. Very well done indeed. Peter

  • I hope you had a good time, visiting your daughter. My daughter lives with her husband on my way to work and so I have them all the time around me. I am very grateful for that. It's good to have you back! - Already a new album ready? What a beauty! There are a lot of well known flowers in your garden and many strangers for me, like the 'Buddleia davidii ', the 'Aztec Lily', ' Elephant Ears', 'Coreopsis'! At the end I found a well know cactus, but it never rewarded me by blooming! :) Such a beautiful flower!. The Gladioli pictures are gorgeous and I love those white Christmas lilies and most of all your lace hydrangea. You have a good had with plants! (and with your camera, too!) In my former place we had a garden, but never so beautiful flowering plants. I admire you!!! Thanks for looking at my new pictures. The Dead Sea is a place like no other place. I like especially the mountains on the Jordan side. The water gets it's color from the salt in it. It has at the surface about 30% salt concentration. Below at the deepest point the salt concentrations gets up to 60%. No fish, no plant can live there. Those yellow umbrellas fascinated me, I took too much pictures of them, but it was fun! In summer the place is very crowded with tourists and visitors who wait to get healed by the water and the mud of the Dead Sea. Have a wonderful day! - Galit

  • Hi Gladys! great flower album! The yellow dahlia, presenting itself as a sunflower is stunning. I am also a great fan of the agapanthus. Quality album!! I think I will make another Keukenhof album to lift the spirits of my webshots friends. I took many shots last april and can make another kind of "7.000.000 flowers etc". The bulbs are already pushing their leaves through the soil now... Spring is in the air. Again it is very warm: birds are already singing love songs for 2 weeks... that really means they feel it is getting spring.... half of january!!! greetz Anna

  • HI Gladys...WOW! You do have an amazing array of flowers in your garden and they are just beautiful and am sure that they bring you enormous joy! Years ago I had a beautiful garden and I appreciate that side of having a garden of love. the Lace Hydranga is beautiful but never had much luck with that species...so stuck to the ones that loved the beachside living. Your Fuschia's are just awesome and a favorite of mine. Just a spectacular flower and loved Fuschia Temptation, the one with the black background as it really accentuates the beauty and colors. The Lilac and Red Hibiscus are awesome...and the red reminded me of when I did that Hibiscus painting....my first attempt at flowers and I really enjoyed doing it. Now, the garden here is just a wilderness of trees and I photograph everybody elses when I walk. You excel in gardening, and the photos are just beautiful and tks for sharing...Take care and have a really great day....Em
