The statue I was looking at is a monument for the 1st world war, it is located at the (Praca Mac Mahon) Mac Mahon square, in front of the railway station. Portugal was directly involved in WW1 not WW2. The square is named after the Judge of the international court that forced the british bach to the original border. this decision denied the british the posetion of the harbour, originaly named, Baia do Espirito Santo. Due to the waters in the bay being very quiet, the sailors said it resembled a lagoon (port. Lagoa) hence the british starting to call it De Lagoa Bay

Thank you for the lovely photos. I spent lots of time in Beira as I grew up in Rhodesia. How I miss those lovely days on the beach. Thank you.

Franky111 thank you so much for your pictures of mozambique. I was bon there and i havenīt been there since 1989, so seeing again the land were i was born makes me more confortable, and seeing the people again, even there are lot of things that have change, it still remains the same, the same beauty that you can see in the faces of thouse people, the same power and love for life, and how they enjoy the sea, it remains that in my heart. Thank you very much
