    • Hello again Chrissy and many thanks for your entry in my Perth album. I had been sitting on those piccies for almost a year for some reason and never before thought about posting them to the site. VERY pleased to see your three photos in Al's album and he has picked three of my personal favourites too! Did you see Gypsy's three? Best regards, Peter

    • Hi Chrissy - I have already commented on this great album so this is really to say a very warm thank you for visiting the additions to my Blooming Garden album and signing my guest book. It is quite amazing when you think you have taken just about every photo there is to take of a certain subject another one crops up, then another and so on. Our garden is like that - there seems to be something new coming into flower every week. By the way, I meant to ask you before this - how's you new job going? I hope the added responsibility is not starting to get at you yet!! Best regards, Peter

    • Hi Chris, I thank you for visiting my latest album and leaving your nice comments, but you had some questions within my guest book on my latest album "A Matriarch in the Deep Woods", so with quite a few asking the reason why this tree was cut, I'll try to explain. I've changed my introduction a bit and this is how it reads now on my site: Born in 1493; Cut in 1989; Ring Count 496; Acres in cut: 40. Trees per acre at time of cut: 1,200. Seedlings planted after cut: 27,200. Bottom line: Sustained yield is what a forest can produce in perpetuity at a given intensity of forest management without impairing the land’s productivity. The huge fir was undoubtedly the 'mother' of all the rest of the 1,200 trees within this area, but it has now has been replaced with 27,200 seedlings. A 20 minute video was taken at the time, but it took a mere twelve minutes to put it on the ground. There was nothing wrong with the tree, it was just time to exchange it with more trees. With best regards. Ron/Oregon Coast

    • Chris, a very nice walk through a dense forest. I lot like the jungle in the tarzan and dinosaur movies when I was a kid, and with those old images already in my mind, your "much larger lizard (#40)" fit right in. I really enjoyed the walk. Ed/Albuquerque

    • Chris, Thank you for the invitation into this nice walk-through album. You've some nice shots and your descriptions handle all so well. On picture #29, showing a young lady under a downed tree, the downed tree in our woods would be called a 'nurse tree', because it nurses other species on the downed log and all by itself. A lot of our fir and cedar trees are re-started this way in our deep woods. Anyway, thanks for this showing. Your euc's are huge and some of the root systems are just as large. They're quite amazing. We've a euc in the backyard, but it looks like a seedling compared to what I'm seeing in this album. Thanks again for your invitation. Best regards from the Oregon Coast. Ron

    • Hi Chris, thank you for visiting my album...Skiing in Lake Louise. What a weather and climate contrast we both enjoy at this time of the year. You have wonderful warm summer under dense subtropical green forest and we are under still deep snow conditions. However..we are "stilling&qu ot; your sun and we too soon going to have warmer days! Chris, please accept Happy Easter wishes to you and your family. Greetings, Rafal

    • Hi Chris, I like this one. Those trees are amazing I loaded some of them down to my collection of trees! :-) I like the picture of the hollowed tree, and the fern, and the berries, and the Wild Cockatoos! Queensland seems to be a wonderful place. According to all those ferns there must be a lot water, a lot rain! :-) Yes, it sure IS wonderful how we can share it all with our photos - and with help of the WEB! - Have a wonderful Easter! - Take care! Galit

    • Hi Chrissy and very many thanks for sending your new album to me. I have enjoyed looking at that because one of the things we really liked about Queensland was all those walking trails through the rain forests. You have some excellent photos here. #21 is outstanding (it's my type of photo) and the wide angle view to finish is superb. In between, #32 - the white cocky - is great - you did well to get that one. Keith, I know, will like #30, 45 and 47 - the fungi. Now what sort of lizard is that in 40 and 41. Looks very much like the one we call a racehorse but I know size can be deceptive in photos. I certainly wouldn't like to make an enemy of him though! I viewed all these photos on a full screen slide show and congratulate you on an all round classic job. Best wishes, Peter
