My husband served during the Korean Conflict, but in the Atlantic Fleet, so never considered himself a Korean Veteran. Darlene, I'm so glad you got to DC to see these memorials. I have only seen the Viet Nam and am anxious but reluctant to see the others as I'll make a fool of myself sobbing no doubt. When they were first considering the WWII memorial they were selling spaces for names to raise funds. I bought space for my late Father in Law and for my Dad to be honored. A beautiful certificate was sent telling they would be forever remembered that was presented to my Dad for Father's Day....unfortunately, Mac died before he knew. 3 weeks later his son, my husband was killed in the line of duty....I have yet to get to Sacramento to see the Firefighters Memorial where Mike was honored....someday maybe. Enough of me....Thank you for this touching and well done album. Lorrie

Dar - When I visited DC it was as a teacher & I had 7th & 8th graders with me. I wore my POW bracelet & when we got to The Wall *the VietNam memorial*, I asked one of the attendants to help me find my POW on The Wall - which she did. When I saw his name there - this stranger that I had only known through this protest bracelet - I sat down in front of it and bawled my eyes out. I took a rubbing of his name with me. Then back on the bus I had to give this impromptu history lesson to my students who didn't understand what they had just witnessed with their teacher. It was all VERY intense. Hugs - Pat
