I lived in the last house at the top of the steps in the 40s. Imagine a churchyard for a playground and sledge rides down the donkey ride. Especially in the snow. Hi Tomo , I've been viewing your photos with great interest . I came to Whitby a few weeks ago to watch my hometown football team Burton Albion play there and had planned on having a good stroll around after hearing how nice the place was . Unfortunatly though the weather was attrocious and we spent most of the time sheltering in one of the local pubs and saw nothing of the town , so viewing your excellent photos has let me see what I missed out on that day . I'm planning a visit up there sometime during summer though to make up for it and plan to visit a few more places up there also .
