Hi Al, using words like gobsmacker will confuse all these foreigners, you know, but most vernacular that comes out of you Aussies keeps us on our toes. I'd be happy to go-a-waltzing even tho I'm not Matilda. Only ended up in Canada by a flip of the coin, Australia lost - too bad. Never ended up going there. Have to rely on you and Keith to show me around. Nice album, Leslie

G'day again Al, belated thanks for your kind comments in my guestbook! I'm a sucker for beautiful sunrises and sunsets but never experienced a "GOBSMACKER" one, they're delicious I must say. Mate, your photos just amaze me for lack of a better word..Just added a sunrise/sunset around the globe album myself - I'd love for you to stop by and take a look. Take care, Marita

Gorgeous! and they do have something special these sunset and rises. The brilliant reds always so beautiful. Very seldom do we get the reds in our sunsets but maybe because they are behind the mountains since we are in a valley and don't see them at the horizon line. Great Job my friend, and keep them coming. Stay well and happy. Laura

Hello again Al, thanks for your kind comments in my PI Painting album. The lorikeet you liked was done in a painting program called ArtRage - you pop the photo underneath the "tracing" paper and paint over the top, bringing out the colours. I enjoyed it. Great hearing from you again. Absolutely love this album - have looked at it before but couldn't resist another peek. Hillie (Australia) :)

Hi Al, I don't think that you will find me as rude as Ken, He has away of being rude to people, and they never take offence, I think it must be the way he says it with a smile on his face. Please accept my belated Congratulations, Ken was so pleased I bet he looked ten times or more during the day reading all the comments with a huge grin on his face. These sunsets are very beautiful you must be a very good photographer to get all these pictures so good. take care and big hugs Carolynn

Hi Al, just arrived here via a pointer from another webshots member cannot think why I did not leave a message on your feb featured album. Please excuse me, must be old age! as i think your sunset/sunrise albums are fantastic. We do get a few in our part of the world but not as many as you, will just have to travel "down under" again. What I do have that you will not see down there is a few "midnight sun" photos. Eric

Hello my dear friend ,Al. Thank you so much for inviting me to see this outstanding beauty!!! I have visited your album and enjoyed it VERY much, but that day I had no time to leave a message. No I enjoy it even more with your new breathtaking addition. What a wonder for the eyes! Well,I can`t beat you here my friend! That`s for sure! It must have been quite an experience to watch this heavenly sight! You captured it so very well..Do you often have sunsets like that in Australia ? The colours are amazing!! Thank you also so much Al for visiting my guestbooks and for all the nice messages. It is always so nice to hear from you..You put me in a good mood! You asked me if I had problems adapting to the difference in climate between Gran Canaria and Norway..It may seem strange but the answer is: no! I went there on holidays once, and was sold! I was tired of our long winters and wanted some sun,but before the week was over I had decided to come back.I felt just like coming home after a long time away..It was really strange. So, I went back to live and work there, and had a really great time.I lived there for three years. During that time I met my husband Carlos, and wanted to show him Norway,(only two weeks Christmasholidays)and that was it! He wanted to live HERE..Well,now we have two homes in totally different parts of the world. It is great! When it gets too cold here we can go to Gran Canaria, and when it gets too hot there we can come back..Oh,I talk too much..Now I want to go back and look at your wonderful sunsets one more time!! Take care my friend. I will be back soon. A big hug from Elin.

Al,friend from down under, this is an incredible album. I visited a couple of days ago but for some strange mistake in my brain did not leave my congratulations... what syndrome is that? Better not even ask... silly me! Pardon my ignorance but what does "grobsmacker& quot; mean ??? Would you please tell me. I thank you for your message in my new album which is nothing great but this afternoon stroll rendered these shots and I thought to upload otherwise they stay in the belly of my machine and the roses will fade away in no time...A big hug for you my talented friend. Hi Al! Love the sunrises and the glorious colors, but it's not Friday yet! :-)) We just had our usual dull setting of the sun here in the city this Thursday evening. Do you live out in the country or do you drive to some lake to get these fabulous photos? Does Elaine get to go on these outings with you every day? Well, it's almost light's out here! Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs and handshakes from Bob and me! :-)) Sharon

Great stuff as always Al. I think the reason we don't get 'em like that is that we either don't get the right clouds or when we do it is at the wrong time - or else it is so completely overcast nothing would get through. I was up and looking at sunrise today but it was insipid with just one lousy little wisp of a cloud passing by. Not even worth getting the camera out for. Many thanks for your entry in my Chittering Valley gb - that was a great day out we had and hard to believe it'll be winter next week. See mate. Peter

Hello, my good friend Al, I am sorry I seem to be far back in the line of compliments on your album. It is absolutely - "FANTASTIC&q uot; is the best description, I thought our Silver Lake sunsets were the best in the world, but your Aussie sunsets beat them all! Which, in my opinion, makes you the top authority on sunsets (and sunrises)in all of Webshots! My sincere congratulations on a gorgeous sequence of sunsets, each second almost different from the previous. It was sheer joy to watch the sequence through the slide show ! I surely hope this album will catch the attention of the daily feature picker! All my best wishes, bruno

Dear Friend! Truely I'm feeling so jealous! Why Mr. Sun loves staying in the Southern Hemisphere? Yes, I know, simply because the Souther Hemisphere is not so densely populated, and people including Mr. Sun can breath much much much fresher air. Blue, Pink, Purple, Orange ..... ALL ARE GOLDEN SHOTS from the Golden Master, Mr. Al from the Golden Capital City of the Golden Country! Hehehe .... I love all these stunning sky scenery! Thank You, Dear Friend!

Hi Al, thank you for telling me these new additions were here they really are stunning and I can see that your son has inherited your love of sunsets and the abilty to capture them too. Thanks for telling me what setting you use too I will remember that. Thank you for the comments in my Gowbarrow album I think you would love our Lake District plenty of water there. We are off there this weekend for a week so hoping for some blue skies and lots of chances to take pictures. Hugs to you too Jill

You be careful not to hog all the sunrises, Hi Al, mkes my little sunsets insignicant, Really glorious pal, are you sure youre not taking pictures of a Rolf Harris painting, I think sunrises are a little bit more dramatic than Sunsets. you have captured a great one here. Good Luck with the getting up early bit, sunrise here at the moment is about 5 o'clock. talk to you soon Ken

Hi Al. That was certainly a wonderful bonus for getting out of bed so early! Truly awesome!! Don't think it is possible to get anything better than that. I think it is worthy of its own "Sunrise&quo t; album. But I do wonder why people have started putting "date added" in their titles, surely if viewers can't remember what they have seen, it is time they looked at them all again. I suggest either making the title the date it was taken, or putting 'date added' in the caption. Whatever... it is a fantastic set of Sunrise Photos and you have every reason to be proud of this lot! Well done and thankyou for sharing.. Gladys, Western Australia.

Hi Al! Your sunsets are so gorgeous. I love your new additions; they're all my favorites!! We don't have such glorious sunsets around here because the city hides most of the sunsets! Bob and I need to sneak out into the country some evening (hey, that sounds like fun), but we still wouldn't see such beautiful sunsets. I hope Elaine got in on the latest sunset photos. HI Al Well..I see my best friend Candy has made it here before me huh? But..I totally agree with her.You have the best sunsets in the world...hands down. What does Gobsmacker mean? or am I dense? I loved so many of these here. One right after the other is even better than the previous one. How do you do it? Just noticed that another great gal friend of mine Lorrie wrote too.See she thinks Gobsmacker is a perfect title. She must know what it means or does it just mean SUPER WONDERFUL??? That should be the meaning! Well.Rod(my husband) & I were gone all last weekend.I have tons of catching up to do.But..wanted to make sure I saw what the down under guy was up to at least. And as usual you were up to taking the best pictures below the equator. Magnificent!!! I have photographed myriads of beautiful sunsets and NEVER have any of them been even half as beautiful as the real thing. Your sunset photos are just grand! I am wondering if they were even more brilliant than these photos, it seems utterly impossible that they could have been, but if so, Australia must have the best sunsets in the world! Thank you for sharing these gobsmacker (that is a new word for me, lol) sunsets! Thank you too for your great comments on my new album, I really appreciate your visit! Warm Wishes, Candy

Hey Al. The sky's the limit for you all right and I don't know how you would survive if ever you were dispatched to a land where there were no sunsets! That would be sheer purgatory (good word eh?) for you. I have run out of adjectives to describe your photos so you'll just have to be content with GREAT STUFF MATE!! Thanks for your entry in my latest GB and Betty is thoroughly enjoying bossing me around - I tell her to just wait until she is A OK again and I can get my own back! See yer mate. Peter

Fantastic shots of suuch natural beauty. The colours are very rich indeed.I love the shot looking east. It's such a shame that there are power lines in the way though. Not a lot you can do about that other than take some wire snippers next time:-) I find it really frustrating that wherever I travel on this planet there is usually some man made obstacle (such as power lines) in the way. I have heard that Oz is on of the places that has many thousands of square ,iles untouched by modern mand adn I aim to visit in the next couple of years.Your albums just make me all the more determined to make it over there. Very impressed with your work. Thanks for sharing. Craig from Scotland

Hi Al! Gorgeous colours! We don't seem to get great sunsets here at this time of the year--it seems the cooler months produce the best sunsets.Although we can have some lovely ones in the summer. We DO seem to get great sunRISES all year--but you have to get up awfully early! Anyway, this album will keep me in mind of what I'm missing. They Are gobsmacker!--Nancy.

Well this is totally amazing! Now I am so muddled with numbers firstly I have to tell you pg5 no's 5-14 I had to fall over the barbed wire fence across the road to get those ...they come from the garden opposite me ...there is no home on it just plantings! The guy that did it worked at the council nursery if you follow my meaning! You too could have a garden like that with trees that fell off the back of a truck!!!!!!!LOL!!!It is a local joke!:0)But for all that he certainly has created magnificence altho'charges for bus loads of tourists to come through -hence I had to be careful not to get caught and I don't just mean on the barbed wire fence!!!!LOL!It was worth the risk though wasn't it?Anyway to get back to this album -it is a beauty you have made a grand album from these incredible skies Al-the one like fire truely is a Gobsmacker...totally incredible!Do you think it is a reflection of all of that brick red dirt you have over there?LOL!I watched a programe on tele last night about truckies driving from the mines way up Weipa way I think it was and all there was was red dirt red dirt red dirt red dirt red dirt red dirt red dirt ...they were wanting Kiwis to go over and drive the train trucks full of minerals etc ...If I went I think I would be scared that I had died and ended up in the place I'd spent all my life trying not to go to Al!!!!!!!!!LOL:0)!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!Cheers my old buddy ....can you give the photos a break for a couple of days I'm getting writers cramp!:0)my kids are going hungry and all our clothes are in the dirty laundry basket!Luv Lynne
