    • Happy hot-and-humid-texas-sunda y-morning, Big Daddy. I was homesick today for the cool weather, and the beautiful sights of Oregon today when I flipped thru my photos and remembered I haven't visited this one of yours yet. God's Country - that's all I can say about Oregon!! If you go back there you have to drive on the Washington State side too, it is wonderful, and much more quiet and relaxed. I still have a hard time believing they got a freeway running right along the Oregon Side and there are so few places to stop. That's why you take the old scenic hwy, right? But that is only a few miles long...Well the freeway is there to stay but still it is fantastic!!! Have a great sunday, Ken and see ya! Marita.

    • Hello again, you have a very interesting album with images of Columbia River in NW USA. Columbia River is very powerful and beautiful with specatular scenery. You have beautifully captured and presented Columbia R. charm! I would like to invite you to view my pictures taken along Columbia R. in BC, in the West Kootenays. Please let me know how do you view Columbia upstream. Links to these albums: http://community.webshots.com/user/komierowski800 Regards, Rafal

    • Hi Ken! Stumbled onto your albums courtesy the great blooming fraternity of webshots. You have a good eye for natures beauty. It's been rightly said, "beauty lies in the eye of the beholder". We only have to look at nature's creations with such an eye to appreciate. I'll be visiting your site more often to savour the other beauties you have there!! God Bless & regards. Samad

    • Hello Ken, Thank you for your kind words about my album. My daughter put them on for me. Check hers out @ belladonnaphoto1. I love the area from this album and have visited it often, but my favorite place is N.C. and the SMOKIES,I stayed there ea. summer growing up with my grandma. I also as a young teen lived in San Antonio. My fondest memories of Tx.were the fields of blue bonnets,( the ticks were a mess tho.....ha) now each spring I have fields of poppies and lupine, which look like your blue bonnets. I agree Lynns albums are all so unique, she has an eye for photographing things differently, and her compositions are wonderful. As a senior now I thank God every day for all the wonderous beauty that is given us for free if only one takes the time to stop and look, from the tiniest mushroom to the wonderful sunrises and sunsets. Bless you too. Thank you for writing. Jan in Ca.

We live at Juan Tabo and Commanche and there are too many houses between me and the mountains to see them from my house, I know Alb. has grown so much since you lived here that I would love to know how close you were. • Ken, I am checking email rather late tonight, but was so encouraged in reading your email to me that I wanted to come look at your pictures. Am I glad I did! :) The NorthWest is a wonderful place indeed, but I particularly enjoyed the personal shots you have online like the one of your grampa carving the turkey 50 yrs or so ago :) I can almost smell the Mrs Bairds bread seeing the wrapper behind the turkey -- we miss that and Blue Bell up here, but will take the view of Mt. Hood reflected on the Columbia River as a consilation prize ;) I look forward to seeing the rest of your wonderful photos tomorrow. Have a GREAT weekend and look us up when you come back this direction! In Him, Kenton Johnson, Gresham, Oregon

    • Dear Ken, Hi! God Bless! I am from Bellevue, Washington as Oakland is to Seattle. I've been to the Columbia Gorge many times, without my camera, unfortunately. I would have downloaded your first picture in this album, but I didn't like the man-made rail in the picture. As a photographer, I try to compose every photo as if I was painting. You've got a great eye for God's beauty and that's wonderful. I left more comments in your cloud guestbook. The Northwest is such a pretty place. Have you ever been to Banff, Alberta, or Alaska, or the Grand Tetons? The Maroon Bells in Colorado are also spectacular in the Fall. Glacier Park, Montana is another treat. The West entrance is the prettiest. If you have questions, please feel free to write. The higher the megapixels on a digital camera, the higher resolution will result in your photos. Of course, how serious of a photographer you want to beome depends on you. Thanks for sharing your pics and keep on snaping.

    • Hi, really enjoyed the waterfalls in your Columbia River album! I very much enjoyed the one visit I made to the Columbia, but your shots have inspired me to go back. I hiked to Punch Bowl along the Eagle Creek from the Columbia. It was tough---"they& quot; rated it an easy hike. I guess the "they" were mountain climbers! Are these falls reasonably accessable? I would love to visit but don't care to climb sheer cliffs again. Although Punch Bowl is one of the most remarkable places I've ever seen. The "bowl" is hundreds of feet high. I have a few shots in the Eagle Creek album that have a few people in them, little dots along the walls! But I'll need to work with a physical fitness trainer for several months before I go back! I couldn't move for days after I made the hike and I was scared to death at some points! Warm regards, Julie

Thank you so much. I am going to Vancouver to visit two of my sons the second weekend in June. It is so ironic that our mutual friend Carmy lives in Vancouver also. Small world isn't it? My son Brent will go with me to meet his brothers and we will make my usual picture taking session a part of the trip. We are then going on to The Oregon Coast. I can't wait. I am so excited to go. • The Columbia River Gorge is so beautiful and goes on for ever. I have started trips before in Canada and took her through Washington and down to the Oregon coast...A two and half day trip when you stop to see all the wonderful sights...I lived in Washington for years...Washington and Oregon are my two favorite States in the Union and I have been blessed to see them all...These two States have been blessed with everything from desert to Mountains, rain forests to some of the most beautiful coast lines I have seen...There are some awesome shots of the gorge here. I truly enjoyed visiting this album, it has rekindled my need for another trip through these two states and my need for what I call an ocean fix...it's like a drug to me, I need it at least yearly..."Horset ail Falls" is and always has been one of my favorite falls. If ever you get to Multnomah Falls again, just down the road is Bridal vail trail...you need to take this turn off...just a mile or so of some of the most beautiful falls around...Biggs (where the bridge is) Mary Hill to your right and stone hedge to your left just on the other side as your driving into Washington, this Bridge is not a toll bridge unless they changed it just in the last year...This is just down the road from John Day Dam, correct? If not it's a bridge I have not checked out in all these years...But she sure looks like the State line bridge? .Thanks for these wonderful shots of the river gorge...I truly enjoyed viewing them...When you took your trip through the river gorge was it windy? com/user/linao

    • Ken: I am back, I suppose I could add a few more tid bits about the Gorge, I am by no means a historian, I just live out here and hear about or read about things in the paper. They are restoring the Vista House at the top of Crown Point, it will be a marvel when it is finnished, I can't wait to see it. I am a Lewis and Clark fan, and out here during the summer months they have a wonderful cruise boat that cruises the Columbia River, either up the River or down, which ever direction you chose to go, it is called the Lewis and Clark Columbia River Cruises. We went this last summer and it was a wonderful experience, it took about 5 hours one direction from Portland, Oregon to Astoria, Oregon. In one word??? Fabulous! If you get out here again you must try that cruise, it was well worth the money spent! I am going to look at you other albums! Carmy

    • Ken: I can't believe someone has not come along and signed this guest book yet. Your work is great, these are sights I see on a regular basis, yes, the Lord gave us beauty out here in the Pacific North West. Some years back a HUGE boulder broke off the face of Multmomah Falls, at the time a couple were just getting ready to be married, peices of rock shattered every where, but no one was hurt, quite amazingly as there are usually kids splashing in the water below the falls. They aren't allowed to now. The boulder they say was as big as a car! It changed how the falls fall! Just a little tid bit for your guest book! Lewis & Clark called this area a lush rain forest. I wonder if we see this beauty here on earth how much more beauty shall we behold on the other side???? Lord Bless you, Carmy (Thanks for all the compliments on my work)
