My name is Gary Benton and I am a published author of western fiction. I have a new book, “Missouri in Flames, I Rode with Jesse James”, and I am looking for a photograph to use for the cover. My book is historical fiction, though countless hours have gone into the research and writing of the story of William Quantrill and the James Gang. Since many people believe the James boys started their life of crime while with Quantrill, I have a large portion of the book about the Raiders. If you have a photo of a Southern soldier, either on foot or horseback, I would be very interested in seeing it. Additionally, if my publisher uses your work, we’ll mention your name in the book, see your photograph is marked as copyrighted, and send you an autographed copy of my finished novel. Please let me know if you can assist me in this project. Take care and stay safe, Gary, a.k.a., “W.R. Benton”
