Indeed! I prefer the Italian ones also. Especially the wood-made ones. But the UK mailboxes look good also - they have this intage style that you can only find in UK.

Because I’m from UK, these mailboxes don’t look special at all to me. I see the everyday, everywhere... I prefer the Italian styled mailboxes . They’re more elegant...

Wow! I have a friend who collects pictures of mail boxes from all around the world-must direct her to this website. She will be delighted. I like the pictures and love the colour. Jane

Hi Jayne, This is a wonderful theme album of postboxes. I enjoyed it very much and I am not surprised it was featured. I especially liked the shots of the pretty rural cottages. They are so wonderful. If I could rely on sunshine, I would spend a lot more holidays in your beautiful country... Greetings, Tjebbe

THWAITE PICTURE 42, AGAIN YOU HAVE CAPTURED MY ATTENTION TO DETAIL. THE TWO YELLOW FLOWERS IN THE BOTTOM LEFT CORNER OF THE PHOTO REALY MAKE THE PICTUE COME TO LIFE. IF YOU HAD LEFT THEM OUT IT WOULD JUST BE A MAIL BOX IN A WALL, HOWEVER YOU LEFT THEM IN AND THE PICTURE HAS A SMALL BUT SIGNIFICANT STORE. I LOVE IT! MICHAEL LUTZ. MILWAUKEE, WI. USA

CASTLE BOLTON, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PHOTO. JAYNE YOU HAVE SUCH AN EYE TO CAPTURE THINGS IN A WAY THAT I FIND BREATH TAKING. YOU CAN TAKE WHAT MOST WOULD LOOK AT AND SEE JUST A HOUSE AND MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A VERY SPECIAL ESTATE. YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY HAS INSPIRED ME TO LOOK AT THE SMALLEST DETAIL IN THINGS AND TRY TO MAKE IT A PIECE OF ART. JAYNE THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIND. MICHAEL LUTZ. MILWAUKEE, WI USA ... PEACE BE WITH YOU

Hi Jayne, Thanks for your always kind words, they are as you know well very much appreciated, going well this album in fact while in Ilam last week on the road out to Dove Dale there was a little post box on the side of the road. I meant to have a better look at it for you , but the Morgan came down the road and it completely slipped my mind, there is a piccy of it in the picture titled Road to Dove Dale, if it is of any use be my guest, although it is not very big. We did not get your heavy down pours but did have a shower last night that barely damped the earth, so it is still watering can at the ready. Weathe talks of being warm again at the weekend, so I should think you have something planned. do take care and have a good week and weekend Hugs Ken xx

Hi Jayne. So you're still at it then? LOL Do you go out with the intention of shooting post boxes or do you have a "nose" for where the interesting ones might be and sort of stumble on them? Fascinating hobby indeed and they certainly make for nice colourful photos. I love this album - makes me get all nostalgic! Hugs, Peter

Hi Jayne...I think you have a wonderful passion for post boxes and they are all so unique. Here in Canada they are all exactly the same, as described by the gov't. I loved looking at your album of them. Thank you for signing my guestbook of this and that. Yes we did have snow and usually do in April. Although this year I do not know if we will. We have only had one snowfall of any proportion. We have had a few light dustings, but that is all. I miss it and I love the snow, but in April it is a little late. Then we get hot weather in May usually. We are near Niagara Falls and over the last 50 years the weather has changed a lot. Way too hot in summer here....last year was the hottest on record...almost 30 everyday or over. Take care and I love looking through your albums. warm hugs, Barbara

Hello again, Jayne. What a wonderfully unusual and diffent kind of album! The QE in the first picture with the little red window & red checkered courtains is one of my favourites. Last summer I ran accross a beautiful old German Post Office Box which is an absoloute rarity in the Town of Limburg I'll post it today in my Germany - Bad Ems, Bad Limburg, Retreat for Russian Czars if you want to take a look. I REALLY enjoyed this lovely album of yours! Marita, Houston, Tx

Hi Jayne. Your "Queen Victoria 1837 - 1901" is the cutest little postbox that I have ever seen and, at long last, you'll be pleased to know that I have a photograph of my town's local postbox. It isn't green, which was the colour you wanted, but I think when you see it you'll agree that it is unusual. I'm sorry I couldn't get you a green one as they are all down in southern Ireland and I can't drive. Still, I photographed the next best thing. Lots of thanks for your photos. Jim.

Hi Jayne Yes of course you can use any of my postbox photos for you album. Hope you'll be able to make an interesting album from postboxes from all over the world, hope to zee it soon. By the way, I've found another one in Gent, still have to go and take a photo of it. It's not too far away from my place, but not in a direction I usually have to go for work or shopping; when the weather gets a bit warmer I'll take a stroll to capture it. It's near the small beguinage of St. Elizabeth, also interesting to take a look. Another idea for photos perhaps? Oh yes, and the pub signs are also on hold for the moment, but I'll track them down when it gets warmer (or the weather is not so dark...) Kind regards Vivian

Hello Jayne, the additions to this album are great. Only yesterday I was thinking of you when in country NSW I drove past an old post box and thought how well it would fit into your album. From the reign of King George VI, it would have fitted well, had it not had "Australia Post" stenciled on it. Never mind, but you and this album crossed my mind. Thanks for your comments on my Uniquely Australian Fauna album featured on November 22nd. I’ve been away from home, and this is my first opportunity to respond. Your support and comments are appreciated; best wishes from Keith in Sydney.

I gather, from the picture of the YELLOW postbox, that you HAVE been to the Vatican, - a question, that I asked, when I viewed, - and downloaded the Colosseum picture! I am NOT Roman Catholic, - or, anything, ELSE, for that matter, - but, - even, to ME, - to see things, that MAY have, previously, been viewed, - or, even, TOUCHED, at some point, - by that great humanitarian, KAROL WOJTYLA, - aka the late Pope JOHN PAUL II, - would have been humbling!

Ottawa/Gatineau Hello Jayne, Your excellent album struck a chord with me, having worked in London at the Natural History Musem some years ago. In Canada, the post boxes have been stripped of symbols of monarchy, even though our government is technically a constitutional monarchy. All the best with your future photography, Don Curtin

Hello Jayne, this album is etched in my psyche as quintessentially English. I loved it the first time I saw it, so returned here to select a favorite photo. But Jayne, it's much too hard to make a choice. Any photo from the album is a favotite, although an older post box would be best, since England for me was living history. I experienced it when I walked in the streets of the village of my ancestors, and found the house where lived. Just an awesome experience. Yes, a nice historic post box would be prefect. Thanks for the invitation to select a favorite, I feel very honoured. Best wishes from Keith in Sydney.

Hello Jayne, what a lovely album, and an interesting commentary to accompany the shots - the school teacher in you is showing! Such things as post boxes stand on street corners as markers of history, as yours demonstrate. I was thrilled once to find a post box here from colonial times, before federation, when each state had its own postal service. It was like finding a treasure, and I've never forgotten how excited I was. Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos, best wishes from Keith in Sydney.

The first shot with the red check curtains in the window is a KEEPER. That one needs to be a post card. Off to visit your other albums....Great job Lady Jayne. L

Hi dear Jayne, I love this album of the bright red post boxes. It is always interesting to me to see what we are each drawn to. And...that Hattie is the cutest little girl. I am just in love with her. Be sure to tell her I said, "Hello Hattie". I was up until 3am this morning plotting out an itinerary through England. I found a couple of great websites. I'll email you the info I found. I fell madly for Bourton on the Water and Castle Combe. Too much to share here. I'll email soon. Take care and lots of love to you my friend. Donna

Hi proude to be the first to put a message in your guestbook. It's funny but whenever i see an interesting post box i always take a pic of it as well, so i really like your photo's, our postboxes are drab green, yours are lively red. Regards Mike.
