Hello Maurizio, oh no, not again a congratulation. But honestly, your Venetian/Garda album was oustanding. It doesn't matter that it is featured or not, as this process is somewhat random, the editors of Webshots wrote me. The quality of shape and color compositions is one of the best I have seen on Webshots. But one note: I presume the colorful way you present the photos reflects your artistic desire and not realism. Else, the colors appear to be too saturated. I also increase saturation in order to reduce the effect of haze (kind of nebbia), especially on landscape pictures. This way, I can abvoid the use of a polarization filter. Sorry for the camera breakdown. Yesterday my labtop broke and I can't continue working on my Balkan Serie albums. cheers, and congrats again for the superb images, Konrad

Dear Maurizio. Yes , all my new phootos are digital and had been taken yesterday. I have a new toy. The Nikon 8800, with 8.8 milion fixel , and zoom of 10. As you remember, I was in lago Majore and lago di-Garda last year, and lost maby 500 phootos I took, as I put ny copactflesh card upside doun, and broke my Fuji camera. Now , I have (as you do ) 2 cameras to any treep I go.... Ran Ps I check every day the number of the visitors to your present albom , and it is fantastic.

Venice has a romantic charm and its so easy to get swept up in the romance of it all, the ambiance is so addicting and every corner is a perfect moment! Every canal photo, building, Duomo, bridge, gondola, and lamp post are just a sweet moment to savour! In the hordes of the many tourists (of which sadly, I am lumped into that catagory as well) that ambiance can get squelched and dampened somewhat, but the love letters that Venice wrote to me are personal and she will always have me wanting to return to her for more......! Once again you've done a wonderful job! I'd love to get a chance to go back to Venice, but I'm still trying to get to the Amalfi Coast and its just south a little ways!! Ciao Maurizio. Grazie della visita. Uso una Nikon 8700 ma vorrei passare a una Reflex digitale, soprattutto per avere piu' luce, equindi piu' colore. Tu hai delle opinioni sull'argomento? Ho approfittato per vedere i tuoi due ultimi album. In quello di Venezia trovo bellissime, tra le altre, la 11 (che e' quella che preferisco in assoluto), la 15, la 16 (cattura di un insolito istante di vita quotidiana elegantemente abbinato a un elemento dell'oleografia classica di Venezia - la gondola), la 25, la 30 (e' una statua quasi incredibile, e poi trovo molto bello il suo inserimento nella prospettiva della foto) e infine la 45. Elegantissima rappresentazione in cromatismo sepia, soprattutto nell'album dei Sassi di Matera, che riporta la mente alle belle immagini dei gloriosi libri del Touring Club Italiano dei '50 - '60, che mostrano un'Italia non piu' fotografabile, tranne che, come hai dimostrato, in questo album. Complimenti. Ale :-)

Ciao Maurizio! Un altro dei tuoi capolavori. Stupendo album, eccezionale veramente. L'ho guardato ben tre volte alla ricerca di suggerimenti di inquadrature. Ma chi mai potra' eguagliare la tua vena artistica. Solo tu lo puoi fare. Ho visto con piacere le fotografie del lago di Garda perche' Desenzano e Sirmione non sono poi cosi' lontane da casa mia e ogni tanto mi piaceva andarvi per godere di qualche ora di lago, ma non avevo ancora la mia fotocamera e non le ho mai immortalate. Che dire delle foto di Venezia. Probabilmente un altro (me compreso) avrebbe fatto le solite fotografie. Invece tu hai curato nel minimo dettaglio cosa mostrarci tenendo conto che Venezia e' una citta' sfruttata dal punto di vista fotografico. Ciao Maurizio! La S75 nelle tue mani non conosce limiti! Ho gia' fatto passare due volte queste foto, ma credo che ritornero' ancora, tanto e' piacevole scorrerle. Certamente ogni foto meriterebbe un commento speciale, per cui mi riesce difficile esprimere un'opinione generale che vada bene per tutte le immagini. Si passa da alcune foto documentarie, che descrivono una località, come quelle del Vittoriale, ad altre che invece ci introducono nell'intima essenza di una citta' unica quale e' Venezia. Anche stavolta come in altre occasioni (vedi Firenze, Roma) sei riuscito a produrre tagli e prospettive di grande originalità, aggiungendo qualcosa di personale anche a quelle vedute che ad un primo sguardo potrebbero sembrare gia' viste e riviste. Un luogo famoso e iperfotografato come Venezia resta pero' sempre una fonte di scorci e perticolari a disposizione di sa coglierli. Mi sembra che la tua ricerca abbia dato risultati eccellenti, viste anche le difficolta' che hai avuto con l'attrezzatura. Certo la fantasia non ti manca! Come hai fatto a mettere un grandangolo su una fotocamera diversa? E la foto con gli occhiali da sole di notte? Rimangono misteri per chi, come me, fotografa quasi sempre in automatico! Se proprio devo segnalare delle foto, direi quelle un po' umoristiche del parcheggio di gondole (che traffico anche a Venezia!) e la gondola con gli sposi (il gondoliere cerca di sistemare la gondola e lo sposo cerca di rendersi presentabile riassettando la giacca). Grande anche lo scatto dell'orchestrina: tecnicamente imperfetta ma la sua indefinitezza rende alla perfezione l'atmosfera con le luci sui musicisti e il buio sugli spettatori. Dici che Venezia era super affollata, ma nelle tue foto non si percepisce piu' di tanto la confusione: la presenza umana c'e' ed è significativa in molte immagini, ma sei stato bravo ad isolare le tue composizioni dal contesto della presenza di troppi turisti. Sono importanti anche le foto dal Lago di Garda: Desenzano e Sirmione sono luoghi ameni e mi ricordano le passate e frequenti gite fuoriporta della domenica pomeriggio. Con amicizia, Luca.

MAurizio! As usual a new album from your hands and your eyes it's a PLEASURE and an occasion to learn! I'm SAD for your camera accident (Now it's time for a new one ;-) ), but this fact show us how it's possible for a Master create a GREAT job also using a poor tool! As Simona wrote it's really easy take good postcards in Venice, but you have created and album without trivial shots and FULL of original and different perspectives! My favorites photos are 1, 2, the perfect perspective in 4, 16, 23, 24, 31, the night shots 31-39-40 (the master at work) and 46. To end a special APPLAUSE for the REALLY DIFFUCULT photo 44; in front at an impossible contrast from high lights over the WHITE bridge and the dark of the night and with a poor camera you have obtained a PROFESSIONAL result! Mio favoloso amico, sono abbagliata dalla bellezza di quest’album!!! Ogni volta di più riesci ad essere “sublime”!!! Tra le pietre dei piu’ vecchi e nascosti angoli sgretolati dal tempo o tra lo sfavillio delle luci di Piazza San Marco, ogni immagine della “tua” magica Venezia è un pezzo unico, un quadro vivo e fremente dipinto con una fotocamera anzi che con pennelli e tele. E’ abbastanza facile tornare da Venezia con delle belle “cartoline” mentre è difficilissimo riuscire a trovare il modo per raccontare questa città con immagini inconsuete, giocando con linee, riflessi, colori, magiche luci nei notturni, che tanto ti invidio ed angolazioni così particolari da incantare e da farmi desiderare che lo slide show non abbia fine!!! Non dimentico la bellissima Sirmione, ma Venezia è uno dei miei grandi amori e le tue immagini ne esaltano il cuore, la bellezza e quella strana sensazione che la fa apparire a volte forte ed immortale a volte tanto fragile da far temere che possa in un istante scomparire tra le acque della laguna. Maurizio! Era la tua prima volta a Venezia? Dovrebbe essere divieto andare a Venezia per almeno 99 per cento dei turisti, chi non vedono che tu ed io e un paio altri vedeno, anche se lasciamo cadere la camera qualche volta (non avevi il guinzaglio?) Hai cambiato provider? Alice? Non bisogna dire che nonostante (ovvero grazie) la caduta, hai fatto un ottimo album. Allora lasci cadere la camera nell'acqua, la mprossima volta, e molto facile a Venezia!

Dear Maurizio, You made with your old camera a colourful and romantic album; I loved the pictures 31, 36, 40, 43, 45, 50 & 58; As always, beautiful night shots! We go to Seattle USA via San Francisco to morrow morning and will see again the magnificent National Parks there during 30 days; I had the same problem as you with an argentic camera in Los Alamos Texas some years ago; The leather handle broke and as my hand was wet with the high temperature, the camera went directly to the stone of the church on the zoom! You did a good work with the ancient camera! Congratulations for this album, Jacques
