Hello again Maurizio, came back to look at this album & the Pompei one as we were at both just last week. Enjoyed it enormously, perfect weather for sightseeing, not as hot as June 2 years ago when we rosted! I can see what I missed on our short visits from your great photos. I have tried to look for a few unusual angles but difficult, as we all seem to find the same photo! Will try to get my album up in a week or so but so much to do. We were on a cruise & the piano player in the atrium was also Maurizio & boy did he make the place rock, hanging on the staircase rails they were! best wishes. Eric

Hi Maurizio and I have just spent a great half hour going through this album of yours. Your usual impeccable photography in all sorts of lighting conditions make this an album of joy and I have been particularly interested because I just finished reading a Dan Brown book called Angels and Demons. Nearly all the action takes place within the Vatican and, going back to certain passages in the book and reading them alongside your photos has made the story really come to life. Wonderful work my friend and best wishes from the land down under. Peter

More great pictures in this album. When we were in Italy, we lived for nearly 3 years down in Calabria, in the little town of Catanzaro Lido. We lived right on the ocean, which was a dream come true! We were able to visit many other places while there. All my pictures are stored away for now--it will be fun to get them out again one day. I am enjoying your photos!

Dear Maurizio, I already saw and appreciated this album some months ago. Now that you have enriched it with beautiful photos of the Vatican it has become a wonderful diorama of the sites where Wojtyla spent his life on this earth. Watching your photos we're all helped in thinking back of those episodes for which John Paul II will be reminded in times to come. Furthermore this is the scenario that will see the first steps of the Pope shortly to come. Thank you. Ale :-) from Italy

Come sempre, davanti a tanta bellezza e tanta maestria resto senza parole. My dear Maurizio, it is so fitting for us all to reflect upon this magnificent series of photographs that you have compiled to share with us as we all pray and hold the Holy Father close in our hearts, regardless of our Religious beliefs.Pope John Paul 11 has been a man of God in every sense of the word,he has strived to bring the peoples of the world together ,helped make immense progress in Europe, been a courageous leader of the faithful, led by example and ,sadly ,shown his bravery as he has fought to overcome his failing health in more recent years.A man whom deeply loved mankind and travelled over one hundred countries to carry that love to the people of the world as head representative of our Father in Heaven.I am not a Catholic but hold Pope John Paul 11 in my heart with reverence ,deepest respect and love,I am sure that many in the world feel the same .Please know that the people of the world have Rome and the Holy Father in the fore front of their minds and prayers.-Lynne

Maurizio, Thank you for the beautiful pictures. Please accept this as a token of my appreciation: Rome The subway roars like thunder, it runs so hard and fast Underneath the magic world, with its famed and honored past It roars beneath the columns, where an empire once had stood Filled with magic and with wonder, that few had understood It roars beneath the churches, where saintly people go Beneath the pride and passion, of a long, long time ago It roars beneath the fountains, that are magic still today That touch the hearts that touch them, and never fade away It roars beneath the boulevard, with its flowers and its trees That hang like golden arches, of waves upon the sea It roars beneath the temples, where Roman guards once ran Roaring hard without compassion, as if not to give a damn It’s roaring now in the empty night, and it will roar again Twisting like a wounded snake, that’s searching for a friend It’s roaring for the homeless, and it’s roaring for the brave For those who live in mansions, and those who die without a grave It’s roaring for the holy saint, who has come to pay his due To the Master of Creation, of the old and of the new It’s roaring for the mendicant, who has no where to go It’s roaring for the prostitute, as it did so long ago It’s roaring without anger, it’s roaring without fear It’s roaring with a sound so hard, there’s little else to hear I stopped and heard its thunder, it shook me like a stone That had fallen from its sacred place, and was very far from home © Jim Espinosa Multo grazie-- Framingham, MA USA

Dear Maurizio here I am back roaming Rome with you through your eyes and how amazing the sights are!!!!!!We never see anything like this for we are just a little and relatively new country in comparison with Europe! No masterpieces in the form of architecture of immense grace and granduer ,very few statues and no relics of hundreds and thousands of years ago to remind us of yesteryears craftsmanship and perseverence for magnificence and perfection. This has been an incredible journey -I LOVE cupolas!I have recently helped my wee granddaughter study Russia for a school project and fell in love with the cuppolas there too. They are so full of grace and majesty.Hope you are well and becoming a little happier -warmest wishes to you from New Zealand -Lynne

Ciao Maurizio!

Hello! These photos are amost like going back in time! No wonder that Rome once ruled the world! you are very composite in your work-a perfect eye in wonders of our world-unwordly yet forward advancing towards a terra-second of the mind & heart. Now we wake up & STILL can see your'e incredible photography as if time had once stood still.THANKYOU!!!! Would you please look at my photos & sign my guestbook? My camera is garbage but I try anyway. Thankyou so much & know that I would like to be able to emulate some incredible photographers like you if I only had the proper equipment to do this with-most of my photos are not downloadable because of LOW resolution-that's my gem of a camera-even my computer costed me $50 Canadian second-hand yet I still feel blessed by being even able to witness such profound art such as yours-thanks again & hey! someday, somehow everything will be known. Hi Maurizio! Thank you for touring my 'Off the Wall' album. Is it not amazing what these artist have done?? :o)b In answer to your request re: album invites. I also put up a new album called 'Never Again.' It was a sad and moving visit to the Freedman's Memorial. A cemetary that held the remains of the slave population in the Dallas area was 'misplaced' by the move of progress. Found and renovated, the honour and respect never received in life is given here in death. Some hard thoughts are present on this visit. barbara

Ancora ciao Ruggero
