Album Description:
Whitby in Yorkshire is a seaside town on the north-east coast of England. It used to be known for whaling and ship-building. The ships which Captain James Cook used to sail around the world were made here. It is still a fishing town.

Hi,this is a great album and means a lot to me to look at the great pics,I had a hip replacement nearly 3 years ago after 3 years in a wheelchair,my first trip out again when I could walk was to Whitby and I actually climbed that 99 steps,it took a time stopping on the way but for me that was such an achievment,if you have a minute to spare please drop by my albums, thankyou again, take care Ann (Chester UK) annedm1@tiscali.co.uk

Congratulations for featuring to-day. I browsed and re-called my wonderful stay in England l964/5 (18 mths.)Now retired & main hobby collecting Lighthouses world-wide. Have your "Pier Monuments" any navigational/maritime significance? Not old Lighthouses, are they? A brief "e" to desertbanker@telkomsa.net will be much appreciated. Tks. in anticipation.
