Album Description:
A tractor-trailer wreck sparked a fire that is now estimated to be 1200 acres. In the path of this fire, and less than a half mile away from it, lies the Oregon Tiger Sanctuary which houses dozens of rescued lions, tigers, leopards, and primates.

Hello Jane, It has been ages since visiting you last. Someone mentioned you in one of my albums reminding me we do live close. So today I came to pay you a little visit to see what is new at your site. I am writing from my 2nd homepage, my hereslaura is almost at the 3000 photo cut off. So had to get a second membership since I am addicted...lol This fire I found very interesting. We took two trips in 2005 to K.F. Once before the fire and again after. That huge jagged rock you could see on 140 coming back towards home, with the very old fur/pine trees growing out of it. I always thought it looked so beautiful. I am so glad I got a photo before the fire. How sad to see that beautiful scene distroyed by this terrible fire. You did a fine job capturing this fire. I am thinking you must live close to where the fire was to get so close. Enjoy your albums very much...Best to you, Laura

Hi Jane! I couldn't get messages to go through last night, so I didn't send any. Did your rains put the forest fires out? Maybe things will stop burning out there now with the rain and cooler weather. Sure hope so! Lots of hugs and love, Sharon

Hi jane. On August 28th my tulip album was featured. Due to the overwhelming amount of guestbook entries I won't be able to look into your albums at the moment. I want to thank you for your kind words. Groeten, Mieke

Hi Jane,a wonderful and dramatic album with strong documentary qualities, must have been a terrifying experience for all those in the area affected by the fire, your photos are so clear and capture the atmosphere and drama in an eventful and comprehensive way, when I hear of these temperatures and inevetable fires global warming does seem to be an increasing reality, thanks for sharing the drama of this terrible fire in these powerful images,Regards,Rod.

Bonjour Jane, you're really getting into a life of adventures here!!You already have an amazing talent as a photograper but now we see the Jane "The Reporter".Beautiful work.It must have been quite hot out there especially in the last pictures.Hopefully the fire is out by now or at least under control,we have many of them up here too,we had already 2 1/2 months of intense heat with very little rain,i hope everybody is safe and that the animals are o.k..Thanks for sharing these unique momments and for all your very kind words on my additions,it really made my day to see so many entries in my guestbooks (for a moment i almost thought i was featured :0)!!)Take care my Dear Friend.Luc

Hi Jane! I'm back to study this album a little more. You did a super job of panning the helicopters and planes in this album. I wish you could teach "an old dog some new tricks," but I guess experimenting is the only way, huh? Thanks for the congratulations on our featured album today. Also, I wrote you am email message this afternoon; hope you received it. Lots of hugs and love, Sharon

Jane..This album is awesome but so frightening too. Your shots are simply magnificent and make me feel like I am right there. How horrible for the trees, plants and the animals at the sanctuary. Your shots of the helicopters and the smoke and damage so far are great. The ones at night are magnificent. They are beautiful as far as night and fire, but so frightening to see this destruction. I also applaud all the firefighters and everyone helping with this fire. I hope everyone will be safe. Thank you for sharing this. Keep safe too. hugs and much love, dear friend, Barbara

Hello Jane! What an interesting report and such good pictures! The fire in #25 to #29 would look so marvelous, but what a tragedy!!! As Sharon wrote: These excellent pictures should be in newspapers, but also featured by the Webshots!!! So sorry for all these wonderful woods... Thanks, dear Jane, for all your nice encouraging words in our guestbooks! With big hugs, Henri and Käthi

Hey Jane! Being able to photograph an event such as this would be a real challenge and you did a great job. We're certainly keeping all the firefighters in our thoughts. Hope you're not having to smell too much smoke at your house. Good evening. Bob

Hi Jane! You did a marvelous job of photographing this fire. How sad it is to see all those trees go up in flames and I certainly hope that the firefighters, helicopter pilots and all overs involved stay safe. Also, I hope the Tiger Sanctuary will not have to be evacuated and will be safe. Great coverage of this fire. Your photos should be in the newspapers! Also thank Rod for chauffeuring you! Lots of hugs and love, Sharon
