Madurodam - (the Netherlands on a scale of 1:25)

Hi, eb je enig idee wie Maduro was. Voor mij is het een heel triest verhaal over een Nederlands joodse reserve officier, uit de Antillen afkomstig, die tegen de Duitsers heeft gevochten in de buurt van Ypenburg en kort krijgsgevangene is geweest. Naderhand heeft hij bij het verzet gevochten en is door verraad in een concentratiekamp terecht gekomen en daar is hij heel kort voor het eind der oorlog overkomen. Het basiskapitaal voor Madurodam is door Maduro's ouders na de oorlog gegeven. Dat is Maduro voor mij!. Sjalom, Uriah

This is so exciting. I am an American but lived in Fontanbleau, France, for three years as a child. Madurodam was one of my favorite places we visited. That was of course, many years ago - early 1960's. But it is so wonderful to know it is still there and to be able to share it with my children. Thank you so much. Mary-Indiana USA
