  • With utmost respect Jacques, this is a beautiful album that shows just how rich and fascinating the Native American culture is and why it should keep thriving and not fade into extinction. A wonderful album that should deserve recognition and to peak more peoples interest and expand the knowledge! Well done my dear friend and looks like it was an amazing experience even though the weather could have been slightly less wet.....Take care and sending smiles, amy

  • Dear Jacques! I had started seeing this album many times and had to stop because my grandchildren were trying to draw the totem masks in crayon!!! Finally, I got an opportunity to see the whole album. What a fantastic collection of totem poles, each one more colourful and fascinating than the other!! You seem to have spent a lot of time in Duncan and Vancouver admiring these poles. They are truly works of art and symbols of an ancient civilization and religion. You have done great justice to this almost lost religion. I also enjoyed the pictures of the Indian pow wow and the colourful teepees. This is a great collection and a lovely album. Thanks for the captions too. Best wishes from your friend, Suresh

  • Hello, Jacques - Finally the long-awaited Part One of your most recent US tour. Your first selection with emphasis on Indians of the Northwest, their culture, and magnificent, colorful totems is wonderfully assembled and most interesting! I am just catching up on being several weeks overdue on my Webshots contacts. Naturally, ha ving seen part one, I am looking forward to part 2. By the way , congratulations on your being featured with one of your Corsica albums - after all your heartaches with Webshots, there is some justice after all. With my best wishes, bruno

  • Dear Jacques, my friend, I saw the announcement for something new on your site and I came immediately to see what was it about. Quite an unexpected bonus this wonderful collection of Native Art! The totems are magnificent! My wife is just looking at the album once more right now. I specially favour the following:26/31/36/44 and 58, for the special quality of the composition. But the whole album is unique and your captions are very informative. Thank you for sharing with us that part of the world. Friendly regards from Yoshiyuki Tanaka

  • Jacques...I'd delighted you decided to put this album together...I had deleted all my albums the end of last week in protest of a so called featured artist on the 27th. Cancelled my premium membership and created quite a ruckus in the guestbook. Complaints to W/S fell on deaf ears as usual, but I felt such a void not having my wonderful friends I came back. Now in the act of trying to put my albums together and remember where some of the shots were taken as the captions don't backup. Your photos are as always top notch and I thank you for including me in your list of photo pals. Lorrie

  • Hello Jacques, and what an awesome collection of West Coast totems and Native people's portraits! I was fascinated by the powerful images, the colorful pow-wows and the striking masks in the art shop. Certainly the photos of the children in festive dress and the elders are so impressive! Also I love the mural with the portraits. You certainly managed to capture such an important aspect of this land! And of course, the beautiful smiles. The Canadian Mountie (#69) is one of my favorite shots, along with Totems #34, 35, 44, 58, 59, 70, 74; and the portraits of the elders in #45/57 and the beautiful young people in #65. Such a beautiful and engaging album! My sincere congratulations - Love, Ina in Canada

Ange

  • Dearest Jacques! You have certainly surprised me with this album. I never expected this angle of your trip - I was thinking about Mount Ranier, Shasta, etc. - all the natural wonders. But this is a great tribute to the true owners of this land and you've presented it beautifully. I'm so glad you decided to publish - just because Webshots mistreats us at times, we in the community are the ones who suffer when you don't publish your new photos! It's interesting for me to see this album at this moment, because as I watched the slide show, I was also listening to native American music for my US Music Survey class - quite a coincidence! It makes a great combination and the photos really come to life! Keep them coming please. With love and admiration, Beth
