Your photos bring history to light for myself and I am sure others. They are magnificent to view, taking us through the heather and dale of England were Robin Hood walked and kings, and queens have reigned. It is as if I am there with all the English novelists’ tales I have read over the years of the scenery of Bronte, Austin, Dickens, Shakespeare, and others of writing fame. Downloading them has added so much pleasure to my screensaver.

Hi Beth! Sorry I've been hibernating for awhile and it's only now that I'm home with colds that I started to take a look at Webshots friends' album. Anyway this is an enchanting collection of photos showing England's countryside. Serene and charming are the words in my mind. As always, I truly enjoyed viewing each one of the photos! Great job! Happy holidays from your SoCal pal! - Bernie

Hi Beth. I'm back for another look at my favourite album. I was hoping to see something new from you, but I guess you must be too busy. I take it, you have no more photos from you trip to England this summer, sob, sob! Went to Oxford yesterday and had a really super day. Do you celebrate Halloween? If you do, make it a spooky one, lol. Take care. Luv n'hugs, Jayne xx

Hi Beth,a wonderful album from your trip to England, you really got about the country and captured some wonderful scenes, obviously I loved the Westcountry ones,Gold Hill in Shaftesbury must be one of the best locations for a calendar photo IMO,and yours is a beauty, thanks for sharing them and I'll be back to view the other albums as time permits,Regards,Rod.

Dear Beth, Well you thanked me for looking at this album so I thought I had better come and do just that... LOL ;o) I'm very glad I did too they are just the kind of images I think most of us who live here would think of as being the idylic parts of our country if I'm making sense. From the colourful hanging baskets to the drystone walls I would find it impossible to choose a favourite as I really do like them all. I see that you too have had problems with loading pictures too It drives me crackers if I try to move anything once loaded GRRRRR. Thank you too for the lovely message in my Glen Nevis GB. Is it really scary going over the Golden Gate bridge then ? The hardest thing about that bridge was getting on it when you are vertically challenged and there are no steps. Once you are on it there really is no choice but to go for it and not worry when it starts swinging :-/ I think May as far as I can make out is a good time to visit Scotland the midges have not quite woken up then. We live very near to Dover in the South East so a long drive for us to get to Scotland as you will know having driven on our roads :-/ Take care now Jill

Hello Beth! My dear friend, p####ionate traveller and skilled photogrpher. And, I want to add, very lucky dweller of that gorgeous city that's San Francisco. You know I love your photogrphy, both in the country and in urban environment. I have nothing to teach, all to learn from your shots. So I love all the photos of this album (is this your more recent travel to England?). So pleasantly raise the interest of the observer the beautiful reflex of the water mill in the first photo. Adorable red spot of the mailbox in photo n.13 on the stone fence and then all those wonderful colours of the numerous flowers... Thank you!

Hello Beth, this is a magnificent collection of picture postcard photos. By now I guess you've sorted out the photo order, so I found myself looking for the ugliest photo, and couldn't find one. What were you doing uploading an ugly photo anyway? They're all so beautiful; thanks for sharing. Greetings from Keith in Sydney.

HI Beth: Elaine here in Ky. I got your note and was really pleased to hear from you. (I had not expected a reply!) You are so right. Photos 3 & 5 are not Clovelly, they were taken in Mevagissey. WE stayed in the most delightful B&B there. We found, as I am sure you all did also, the people were just so friendly. I have a lot more pictures I should add of you trip. I am rather new at putting them on webshots, so I am slow at it!! I am just amazed at how much traveling you all do. And I thought we did a lot! You're picture truly are great and I just love to view them. (I have downloaded a few for my screen saver.) Have you all ever been to China? We have a trip planned in May to go there. I would love to hear from you again. Elaine

Hi again Beth, as promised I am back under my new name to view your England albums. What a grand job you have done, just the sort of photos of England that I like, none of these City types! I like the canal bridge especially. your tracks in the fields amused me as I have a similar one in my green album. Should be putting a lot more on when WS sort out their CC system, approved 11 times by my CC yet they still cannot process & upgrade! I see you are one of the many who have had other probs. Eric

Ciao Beth, my sweet and lovely friend, I am fascinated from your unusual England! Like Ruggero, I don't know this magnificent land, but it is easy to see photos that show the most important towns, on the contrary you show wonderful unknown places that enchanted us with its peace and beauty. This is a very lovely album, my friend, and it reflects your great sweetness. With love. Simona

Beth! You have made a BEAUTIFUL album from a nation that unfortunately I not been able to visit; now through your eyes I have been able to discover it. As usual the goal of your travel has not been the great cities and the more famous monuments, but the small villages and the campaigns. Perhaps in this way you don’t visit the more famous places, but for sure you discover the hidden spirit of a nation. I must tank you for this attitude because often I was able to see images from London or Edimburg, but much more rarely I have been able to see the hidden face of England. Your photos are all good and I see that always you have tried to capture various and not banal details and particulars. Photo 3 is a BEAUTY and it would be perfect in my album "Fields of my dreams". The 6, 11, 15, 44, 47, 55 and 60 they show a great sense for the perspective; 22, 23, 24, 33, 34, 42, 46 are the result of your search about details able to say us an history (GREAT!) Excellent macros are: 26, 31 and 41. Finally 30 is tender and full of beauty. To end you have made a beautiful and mainly a NOT banal album(not like my usual landscapes). I hope someone discover it and you will receive a deserved feature notice. With an applause! Ruggero

Dear Beth, You really made an album of top quality! Artistic composition & angles of view with always nice colours plus the originality of some subject make the all interest; I loved the circle bridge 6, the perfect thistles 9,the many walls in 15,the doorways to paradise 20, the fishing traps 22, the lovely Downham cottage in 27, the shade in the window 36 which is a master piece, the perfect dry & wet pebbles in 43 & 46, the bench with a view 48 ( I should like to be there),the typical English Shaftesburry Gold Hill in 51 and the last picture of an electric curious web; Congratulations for this artistic presentation, love, Jacques

Hello Beth. At last your images of England have appeared. Hip hip hooray!! The suspense was killing me. So, after waiting al this time, I see you have not let us down with your portrayal of life in good ol'England. Need I tell you Beth, what a fantastic job you have done. A brilliant and unusual selection of photos with great captions to boot. To list but a few of my favourites; the King George post box, (naturally), Many fields to cross, (Yorkshire, if I'm not mistaken), Stow-on-the-Wold (such a quaint village) and finally, Shafesbury's Gold Hill, (never been here but it's now on my list as somewhere to visit). Beth, this has to be featured and I hope it's very soon..... Luv n'hugs, Jayne #####

Beth , when I was writing my entry there was no note by you, now I see that you wrote your own entry at 10:21 Aug31..what is happening? Not only has WS stopped with the download statisitics, the whole system is crazy. I wrote them about the downloads and they answered some nonsense about 10000 hours. I am getting pretty tired of their gimmicks. My preferred photo is "Shaftesbury Abbey Entrance" was # 47, now is 49 , then "into the Sunset", then Henley bridge and the one after that. Beth you are just wonderful. I also wanted to upload an ablum tonight buth fiven all these problemas will try tomorrow. Bunch of kisses/kathy

I am having extreme difficulties uploading this album! So if anyone views the photos before I have a chance to edit the album tomorrow, please know that I will be rearranging them because Webshots loaded them in some random order and put the ugliest one first! Therefore, please comment by name rather than number until I have a chance to fix this tomorrow (Thursday). Thanks! ... Beth
