    • Hi Pete, St Edwards Crown is part of the Crown Jewels. It was a copy that you saw in Cockington Church, as it is extremely valuable. In 1661 it was remade for Charles II [after Oliver Cromwell destroyed it in the Civil War It was originally made for Charles I ]. It has some gold in it from Edward the Confessors crown11th century and pearls from Elizabeth I. jewels. It weighs 4lb 12 oz and is used in all the Coronations. Queen Victoria and Edward VII did not use it because it was too heavy. It is made of solid gold and set with 444 precious stones. You can see the original in the Tower of London. I am English and lived near Cockington for several years. I enjoyed the albums .regards SM
