One of the better photo series for which I have questions which won't be answered. 1-how do they get the piping up to where the volcano oozes out the sulphur? 2-are they using natural vents of the valcano or have they drilled? 3-how long does it take for the sulphur to be cool enough to retrieve? 4-are they paid by weight or by the hour? 5-is this volcanic sulphur mining owned by the locals? 6-how long have they been mining the sulphur and finally 7-what are they paid per pound or kilo? But have an extra question regarding their health. Since they are working in the gasses from the volcano, will this shorten their life (like the many firemen and policemen) in the 9/11 attack in NYC?)

An exceptional album of this austere sulfurous world. Much like a trip into Dante's inferno. Excellent work!

You should try employee leasing for mining operations. That could work two: cheaper for the employer and health problems solved for the employee.

I like very much your album, there are many pictures that i love. I prefer n. 4, 6, and 13. All your album are very great. J learn many things from you. Thank for sharing. I put you in my favorite's. Franco F. Ps: Have you ever seen my "Myanmar - People and pagodas of Burma"'s album? There are many pictures of the ancient Burma. I took them many years ago and only now I published (conversion by slides). I believe that the world J saw, today is a lost world. What do you think about? Can I became an your favorite?

Steve, a friend to whom I pointed out your two albums east and west Java, wrote me the exact words as Joan here preceeding my entry. You are at the level of any National Geographic photographer and it is fantastic what you accomplish. Again and again congratulations and thanks for letting all of us travel with you and crew. By the way are you a professional?? Warm regards/kathy
