After looking a brochure on the beauties of Oise department, I discovered this rural church, the only one dedicated to St Felicite in the world who saw the decapitation of Her seven sons before being also decapited.

  • Bonjours Jacques! Am I really first for this magnificent album? It is not possible. I love the distant shots through the field, the detail of the roof, and the series 37,38,39 in particular. Is that St. Anthony? In #37, it looks like he is sitting in the bench! You have done a marvelous job capturing this beautiful church. Merci beaucoup! Stop by my latest album for a special surprise for you and Pierre. Love, Beth

  • Dear Jacques, a most beautiful album, a trip into beauty and history.I love as photography #1/4/6/9. #10 has magnificent texture, I wonder where from you took it (?)#23- magnificent! #24&25 - very beautiful stained gl####, later on #34, the St Peter is great!!!#27, beautiful interior. What a pity that No.32 is not clear!!!#35 - very interesting angle of shooting;#39 is an excellent take, the expression on his face is sublime. #46 is my FAVOURITE for the showing of the retable. Also, I am grateful that you made the effort of shooting niche by niche and thus giving us the chance to see close-ups, though some of them are not so clear.Dear Friend, this a work of love and who other than you to do it so well!?!And I appreciate it so much more that you choose to share it with us, it is a gesture of great generosity for which I heartily commend you! Affectueusement, Gabriela

  • Hello Jacques, wonderful historic album, the statues and the architecture, as well as the warm colors and patina are superb. My favorites are: #23, 26 (gorgeous!), 27 lovely atmosphere, 30/31 (splendid decorative work & patina of time), 39 excellent portrait and angle and beautiful background, 40 great angle, 49 (all the fantastic niche scenes - what a treasure!!!), and of course, your signature: the stained gl#### windows. Thanks for sharing another treasure of the French cultural heritage! Your photos are always a delight to see, and a wealth of information to absorb! Love, Ina

  • Dear Jacques, your pictures of Oise Montagny Saint Felicite are rare gems. First of all, the the setting of the church as photographed in your first picture shows clearly the rural surroundings which is so pastoral and serene. The belfry in # 6and 8 are unique and I believe you when you say that the belfry is higher than the church you went to when you were young. It is an impressive belfry. You are lucky to have the key presented to you by the mayor. I remember the trouble you took to get into Notre Dame. I was very impressed by the picture of St.John in #22. It has a certain majesty. The stained gl#### window in 25 is also very striking. The face of St.Antoine is so fresh that it looks like it was painted yesterday. May be it has been restored. The pictures of the pulpits from various angles are very ipmressive too. Yes, Jacques, unfortunately, in the name of religion, many atrocities and violence have been committed in the past and continue to be committed. I suppose human beings have not learnt the true meaning of tolerance yet. The decaptitation of the seven sons of St. Feleicite is heartrending. And, somehow it does not fit into the calmness of the church. But, it was reality and one will have to accept it. Thank you for discovering this rare jewel and for the fund of information. I hope this will be featured. Warm regards, Suresh
