We never were able to get to the show this year due to our trip to the wheatbelt, but it doesn't look to be all that different from previous years. I always used to like to go on one of the wildflower walks with a park guide - did you go on one this year? Thanks for writing in my gbs - we, too, had covered all those wheatbelt towns quite extensively during the 1980's and had developed quite a soft spot for not only the towns but also the people. This time we were able to read quite a lot of the pioneering history of the region and it was all fascinating stuff. Thanks for writing in the Blog and it's just a shame that more interest wasn't shown but that's the way it often goes with things like this. Catch you again later, Peter

Hi gladys, it's always a pleasure to visit your albums. This one is beautiful as well, thanks for sharing it with all of us. I guess that you experienced recently some problems with this site. Therefore, I invite you to take a look at the album that I released earlier today - "A Snail's Blog". I hope you'll like it. Have a wonderful weekend, Yair.

Hi Gladys, Thank you for your nice comments in my Fish Lake album - the 1875 Ponderosa pine you questioned was probably a dead snag or it had snapped off already years ago. Fish Lake is at an elevation where the snow is deep and winds are stout. This is Mother Nature's way of 'thinning' her forest. The wood is mostly used for firewood. The '16 log' tree is a 256 feet tall and will stand a lot more years of growth. Even if the top falls out, which sometimes they do, the tree will stand tall once more. This is quite tall for this elevation, probably at its height at this time. Thank you for your visit. My best regards to you. Ron

Hi Gladys, at last I have some time. The preparations for the holidays took a lot of my time. So I had a look at the new album, but not more. I like to watch slideshows instead of TV - it is much more relaxing than the news! :-) Your spring is lovely! Wonderful Kings park! The banksias are so beautiful and occur in such a variety. It's the first time I see the leaves more clearly. They look like saw blades to me. I adore the carpets of flowers (#28!!!) and all those intense colors! Lots of flowers I never saw in nature. We may have some similarities, but I think those occur mostly with the cultivated plants and trees. Your photographs are brilliant! Thanks for looking at Yoav's album again. I am sure he will swim early in this very big family of very good swimmers. They bought him a swimsuit, more expensive than mine!! He already has a lot of sports wear, I didn't know that there are things like that available. Yoav's father is instructor for a basketball team (beside his regular job) so as soon as Yoav will walk he will play basketball, too! :-) Thanks too for your compliments about those New Year apples. It was fun to take pictures of apples. I tried some more together with honey, but I messed it up and in the end was honey everywhere! A very sweet disaster! :-) Gladys, have a wonderful day! - Galit

Thank you so much for visiting my album, Wildflower Garden. You were perhaps correct in pointing out that most of the flowers are domestic, although there may be a few of the native variety mixed in there...the little ground violets and the Sweet William grow wild here, as do the white daisies. I should have called it a "Wild" Flower Garden because of the way we have planted those things --- we naturalized a large portion of our back yard with both "wild" and "cultivated" flowers for the benefit of birds and butterflies. A more appropriate name for this album might be "Butterfly Garden" for that is the effect we wanted to achieve. Your albums are quite lovely and it is obvious that you know your flowers! I'll visit again!! Kat from Pennsylvania USA

Hi Gladys, this is a delightful album. I like these Banksia flowers. The seed cone has such a beautiful shape. I wonder about the Everlasting flowers. They look like the straw flowers over here. I think I have grown the white species in your picture #42 in my garden a few years ago. The flower can be dried and is used in dried bouquet arrangements. Could it be the same flower? I did enjoy viewing all these wildflowers. Nrs. 8 (assorted colours),62 (green kangaroo paw), 80 (qualup bell),and 96 (colourful wildflowers) are my favourites. Thanks for sharing and for your nice comment on my Spider album. Kind regards, Els (wely246/evanwely)

Hello Gladys, this album is a triumph! Beautiful photos, and all correctly named, but this album is so much more. It's a showcase of the magnificent wildflowers that abound in the West. As well, it showcases your appreciation of Nature's beauty, and talent as a photographer. A feature album in waiting. Well done, and best wishes, Keith.

Hello Gladys, What a fabulous show of colour, not only the huge variety but the names to go with them, like Rod below I have never heard of or seen many of them, What a great pity that spring does not last throughout the summer.Peter keeps trying to educate me in all things Western Australian, but this album is so so lovely. there are far to many to mention but I do love the Banksia, I bet the birds love all those seeds. Thanks for the GB, the lashes photo, is one that I took of a baby camel with its mother, I only saw the lashes when it was downloaded. I to love that shot, best wishes and good luck Ken

Hi Gladys,a beautiful floral album,so many different species that I've never seen or heard of,obviously many are unique to your country.the colours were spectacular and detail was all there to enjoy,I really loved the ones where you captured the different layers of colour like image 96 for example, thanks so much for sharing them and for your kind comment in my Sepia Scenics album,in answer to your query, all the images in that album have been replaced, the original ones were all B&W and bad scans, the current ones were converted to sepia from coloured digital images,Regards,Rod.

Hi Gladys, Thank so much for dropping me a line in my Rocky Mountain album! I've been a little detached from Webshots lately...partly due to all the problems, but mainly due to the fact that my husband & I have decided to move to Colorado! Once our house sells, we will be able to take those great Rocky Mountian pictures on a regular basis! For now, I am thoroughly enjoying your lovely new album! What incredible beauty you have captured!! Thanks so much for sharing! Take care, Lynn

Hi Gladys! All your censorship examples contain a s s. As for the change in our homepages: I agree that we should be able to see our own profile, but I am more bothered by the fact that our albums are automatically arranged by their date, esp since we all know that Webshots sometimes creates fictive updates. Other than that, I like the new view of the homepages. At the moment I am mostly disturbed by problems in editing new albums with the software. Have a nice day! Orly

Hi Gladys! Thanks for your message on my "protest album" from 10 days ago (I've been away in Italy). I too have noticed the statistics problem you were talking about, but, well, at least now the download statistics are updating. I have also experienced "censorship" phenomena in guestbooks. I think that some of them are dirty words and other are, perhaps, names of Webshots' competitors. This are my only guesses, as once I had this problem when I tried to type some URL. There are of course all kinds of technical problems, some of them are corrected. I think that the BIG problem is Webshots attitude, but I hope that there are signs that its improving, and they will start giving us more respect. Anyway, we shouldn't give up this wonderful Community. Regards, Orly

Hi Gladys. Sorry it took me so long to get here. You are one patient lady the way you labeled every shot with it's common and Latin names. It must have been a very enjoyable festival because you had some gorgeous flowers. Photos 1 and 2 are my favorites but I particularly like all of the bottle brush type plants. Thanks for sharing mate. Catch you later. Hugs Al. PS. We went to Floriade today and took heaps of photos. Thank God they're not all good.

Hi Gladys, Well my friend, another of your staggeringly beautiful Wildflower albums. Oh my....they are just stunning and how does one choose from all that wild beauty. You sure had a great time viewing and photographing and we are all thankful ever for your great skills of naming flowers. The Albany Daisies are gorgeous & I will admit that I do love the Banksia, especially the Menzies species. Just glorious and what a show of beauty and colour from the Wildflower State of Western Aussie. Great album and very vibrant and alive with the beautiful blends that the Great Mother Nature am####es in her floral blooms. Tks for sharing this amazing show of Wildflowers. One day I shall get to see them in W.A. Take care and have a really great day..Kindest regards,,,Hugs Em oops I came here to thank you for your lovely words in my Dawn Boats album. Tks Gladys, you are ever an inspiration..xx

Hello Gladys! These flowers are really unic! What a great variety of such amazing wildflowers! We are very interested to know new flower families: the Banksias with their different species, the Albany Daisies, the Gillam's Bells, the Honey Myrtles etc... Beautiful views of Everlasting's paches and fields, never we had seen so many together! I love the flowerbouquet of "Assorted Colors" and many others too! Thanks for this wonderful Australien gift! Thanks also for your nice words in one of our Vacation albums! Best wishes, (Henri and) Käthi

Hi Gladys, Well, you've done it again! What a great collection! Many of our birds may be very similar, but our wildflowers are certainly different! In my experience wildflowers have looked much better from afar than they have from up close, but not these. These seem beautiful at any distance. I particularly like the Everlastings (although I can't seem to tell them apart from the Paper Daisies) and the Lilac Hibiscus. We in Florida have several different varieties of hibiscus in many different colors, but nothing that comes close to the Lilac Hibiscus. All of ours are in many shades of red, pink, yellow, orange, gold, white and multi-colored combinations, but nothing in the cooler colors. Thank you for showing them to me and have a great day. Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. The problems with Webshots continue to abound.
