Hello - This is a magnificent album! The composition is superb. I spent half the afternoon enjoying each and every photo and looking up their location on the map. Thanks so much for the details in the captions. I have a couple of questions, if you don't mind. Do you know the name of the stream that runs through Glendalough? And if I were driving in photo #87 and wanted to turn right to pass the white house, would I turn in front of the group of signs and then yield or what? How do you know when to yield? I am trying to figure out how to drive on the left side of the road. I would love to go back but not on a tour. Shirley/Michigan

Hi Bill! Thank you very much for your kind comment on my featured album. I appreciate it! Please accept my belated Congratulations for your wonderful Irish featured. Very good photography, commentary and presentation. I feel as if I have tasted a bit of Ireland, which increased my desire to travel there (though I'd probably waive kissing that Blarney Stone :-)). Thanks for sharing your experiences. Best wishes & Happy Easter. Orly

Hi Bill, You're right, your daughter 'looks' like she belongs in this countryside, pretty too!! Quite a nice album you have here, loved the green valleys, the old houses, your trip looked like a lot of fun. Kissing the Blarney Stone must've been rather exciting, hanging upside down-guess that's the only way that can happen, so I've heard. I downloaded a castle on a lake and one of the countryside. You've got my attention on this album. I'll come back and look some more when time allows. Best regards on your Featured album and greetings from the southern Oregon Coast. Ron

Bill, yes that is the "Corpse Plant". There are three plants here at UW-Madison; Big Bucky has bloomed twice; Titan II has bloomed twice; and Little Stinker has bloomed once. All have the complex leaf structure now. Have to wait until next year to see if there will be any more blooms. Whistler's Mom

I was interrupted before I finished my note to you about this wonderful album, so I will continue now. My daughter and I visited many of the places that you did, with your daughter. I had to laugh when I saw her picture, because MY daughter looks like she should be an Irish lassie too. She has the same color hair as your daughter, and the same peaches and cream complection! They could be sisters! Anyway, can't wait to look at your other albums, and will do so soon. Bobby from Arizona

My husband and I visited Northern Ireland in 1990. Your views of Dunluce brought back particular memories and I think we ate at the pub you photoed in Enniskillen. My mother was from Belfast and told me of the time she kissed the Blarney Stone -- only back then there were NO hand rails or rails across the bottom opening -- you really had to trust the one holding your legs!!! Bill, This is a beautiful album with wonderful photographs. I love all the rich colors and diversity in your compositions. It would be difficult to pick a favorite but I really do love all the ones you took of the villages and old castles. And, wasn't it nice of the owner to leave that little boat until after you took the two photos of Kylemore Abbey? The blues are startling. I prefer a film camera too - use a Nikon N-75 with an hp scanjet 4670. Your album proves what beautiful photos a talented photographer can take using film...no digitally enhanced photos here! Thanks for sharing. Connie from Ohio

Bill, you captured Northern Ireland in such a bautiful way, especially for all of us who have never been there. Your cover/signature shot is astoundingly lovely and the blue boat there was no doubt the work of a LARGE Leprechan! ... congratulations on your most well-deserved feature. Enjoy your day in the WS 'spotlight' ... Judy/FL

Your album is a real, touching and unforgettable journey trough old history. I loved every shot and the explaining notes you added were most helpful to get the all spirit of each place. Those celtic crosses in Lahinch Cemetery are sooo impressive and the sun bursting of clouds in Clifden Dawn is fabulous. And I see we have something in common: We both love vitrails and iron work:) Thank you for sharing such a beautiful journey with us. Rosa, in Portugal

Dear Bill, Well I would normally think to myself when I see the size of the album do I want to see all the photos but each one of them captivated me along with your excellent descriptions and before I knew it I was finished and I would have wanted to see more. I don't think you would have a gun pointed at you these days thank goodness and I would have had to walk that rope bridge too :-/ I was interested to see the Giants causeway too having visited the Island of Staffa last year. I knew you had to be quite a contortionist to kiss the Blarny stone but I couldn't believe the size of the queue. Congratulations on a very well deserved feature ad thank you Jill (UK)

Hi Bill, I'm sorry I've taken so long to get back to you, but I've been out of circulation for a little over a week. I see you have a lot of entries here from Lynn (1seahag). She's a fine lady and I think she was right in suggesting this for your signature image. It has the signature colors of Ireland. It's well balanced with the abbey on the left and the lake on the right and with the abbey on the background and that beautiful blue boat on the foreground. Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. Thank you for your kind words on my Everglades album. We went there with the specific purpose of catching some birds in flight and I used only my 70-300mm zoom. Those two first shots of the Snowy Egret were serendipitous. I went after that same Snowy Egret in flight (also in the album), but kept on shooting after it had landed. It had beautiful mating plumage and was perfectly backlit against a dark background. All I have to say is: Thanks to the technology gods for continuous servo auto focus. I couldn't have done it without that.

Well! I am so impressed with all the new additions to this album. Waterford Crystal tour... what a great thing to see. I think every woman covets this type of crystal. lol Did you come home with some? Moving on. Lismore Castle and Blackwater River image is awesome. I especially like the Ladies' View 2 more than the first. I can see why it was named such. All the images of the quaint cottages are excellent. I don't think I could live like that, but I would such enjoy having one as a summer place. They are post card quality by the way. And, last, but certainly not least, your favorite, Clifden Dawn. I can see why you both enjoyed this little hamlet. There is so much beauty in the world if only people would open their eyes and look around. Have a Merry Christmas. I am going to see my grandchildren on Monday for a day or so. I am off next week, but will be working on projects here at home. Enjoy your time with the family my friend. Lynn

Good Morning Bill! Wow! Yesterday was a busy day. I just finished up with everyone this morning. Your album here is coming along really nice. By the way, the DiMage Scanner that Darlene mentioned below is excellent. My friend has one and when I go to visit I take my slide film to scan! That way I don't have to purchase one. lol Merry Christmas my friend. Enjoy your time with your family. Lynn

Hi Bill, thanks for the wonderful compliments in my guestbook...always enjoy hearing from you...I see you are using a Nikon scanner...it doesn't work all that well?? I have been looking at digital scanners and I have my eye on a Konica Minolta - DiMAGE Film Scanner..it isn't pricey and seems to be what I'm looking for...I have tons of old negatives that I would love to take care of before its too late...any suggestions on a good scanner?? Wish there was a better way for us to communicate !!! Thanks...take care...Darlene

Good Morning Bill. I finally had the time to look at the rest of the images you have added. What is the purpose of kissing the Blarney Stone in that manner? That seems like a lot of work to kiss a rock! lol I really like the images for Blackwater River. I am enjoying your journey very much. Thanks my friend and have a great week. Lynn

Hi Bill! This album is wonderful, but I'm going to have to come back when I am not at work...and when Webshots is working right! It will not let me view a slideshow - I have tto go in and out of each picture individually! But, they all look FANTASTIC in their thumbnails!!! I am finishing out my last week at work in CA. But, we found & bought our new home in CO last week & our move-in date is Nov. 21st...so we're almost there!!! Thanks so much for the note! I'll probably be writing from Colorado the next time! Have a great day - Lynn

Good Morning Bill, It is me again! I spent some time this morning perusing this album and really like the following images: "Scrabo Tower 2," "Road to Ballygally," "Near Cushendal #2," and "Coast near Carrick-a-Rede." I liked the Mussenden Temple 2, also. I was going to mention to you the last time and forgot, why don't you move the "Kylemore Abbey 2" image to your first image? I just love it!! Now, with regard to the "apple tree!" Your guess is as good a mine about the number of next years apples. Since it only had 13 this year and the previous owners have no idea of the previous years, I don't know. I would think somewhere between 18-21 for next Spring. I wanted to mention to you also, that both sides of my family are from, Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Mother's family is from Victoria Texas and her parents are from Missouri and Oklahoma. My Dad's folks are from Missouri. Currently, I have a brother and sister-in-law living just outside of Tulsa. They moved there about 2 months ago. Well, I need to get my girls fed this morning before they start the bellowing at the gate. Great album Bill. I look forward to the next installment. Lynn, Oregon

Hey Bill. Cannot believe I am the first to vote on the beautiful Kylemore Abbey Photo Contest. I prefer photo number 2 because your subject is more to the left of the photo and more pleasing to the eye. This shot is par excellence! The other shot I really like is the Powerscourt Gate. What workmanship! I will continue to check back to see what you have added. Excellent work my friend. Lynn, Bonanza/Oregon
