  • Hello Ken and congratulations on your marvelous album. As somewhat of a Civil War buff, this three days in history was truly the birth of your nation. Many brave souls were lost or maimed to both sides and individual acts of bravery were many. From the 'seige at little round top' another true american hero, Joshua Chamberlain' became ledgend. It was the one time during this battle, that General Lee let his heart rule his head, even against the wishes and recommendatioins of his generals. I truly admire this album.

  • Thank you for the beautiful memories. I used to live in Maryland and my husband grew up a few miles away from Gettysburg. The Gettysburg Battlefield was our favorite place to visit during the fall. Your photos are a wonderful reminder of all we loved about that area.

  • Ken, Am I able to use any of your photos for our website blogs? I did a tour of the Eastern Highlights of the USA. Gettysburg was one of them and I am blogging the trip and would like to add a couple of your photos for effect.

  • Ken, I've left notes under individual photos, but I had to come and leave my comments here as well. This album shares the feeling one gets as they walk around the battlefields in Gettysburg - and I've not been there since 1974, when our youngest was nine! His first school project of the next fall was to draw a picture of Bloody Run and he still remembers it! Thank you for the memories. ... Judy aka L@dybug, Florida

  • I am interested in the history of war memorials and am planning on writing a book on the subject. My intention is to prepare a presentation for submission to publishers for their consideration. I have seen some of your excellent photographs of the Pennsylvania war memorial on Webshots and wonder whether I could have your permission to use some of the images to illustrate my presentation? I live in England and often visit America, but it is very difficult for me to photograph all the memorials I wish to mention. Kindly post a message or email me direct at: warmemorials@aol.com I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your time. Michael

  • Ken, thank you for your kind comments on my 'Yellowstone Vacation: "last stop"' album. I just tonight published the next album in the sequence 'Yellowstone Vacation: "Yellowstone & Teton"', and although I wouldn't be so crass to ask for your review - a gentle hint wouldn't be amiss, hummm. • Hi Ken, You're not new with photography anymore, that's for sure, you've done well in this album of the "Fall of Gettysburg". I downloaded #8, great photo of a cannon looking out into a field. Those were the days, sure glad I wasn't there! I thank you for visiting my featured album on Sunday-last, most appreciative. Had fun shooting the park and collecting the information about the site. You've got your own style...what a lot of us want; your compositions are right-on and as etiwinsford mentions below, those dramatic clouds!! A real nice album. You'd best shoot more and update as you go. Best regards from the southern Oregon Coast. Ron

  • Hello Ken, I've always wanted to go but never been. Your album is appreciated. Curious that General Grant has a monument since he was never there. The General in that battle was Mead. At the time Grant was besieging Vicksburg. Your photo "Fence Line #13" was in a PBS special about a year ago that claimed that the fence help defeat Pickett’s charge by delaying the troops in the open field where the withering fire had more time to kill them. • Hi Ken! Great album. I think you got lucky with the clouds. I love the drama the skies add to your images. #4 great perspective, $7 love the dramatic clouds in the brewing, #9 love the simple perspective and curves, #11 appreciate the perspective of the fence and again love the clouds the colors are super as well, and #15 brings the statues to life and love the clouds. Can't wait to see the one of the photographer lining things up! Will check back for your "toyed with" images with PS elements. Enjoy! Eti
