Hi Jair! Thanks for Your comment! These are not my drawings. This completion (3 books), is out in 1938 and comprises materials from Latvian society in Riga and Historical museum and private collections. Pastels are drawing from several authors.

Yair.. I can say this without reservation..This is the best album I have ever viewed on Webshots! Words cannot describe what I felt when viewing it. First of all , your photography is excellent! Secondly, it makes me feel that I went through a time warp to Biblical times. It is a place that someday I would truly love to experience myself. I don't think that I would ever want to leave it! It is Paradise!

This is a fantastic album. I love it all from all of the long distance shots to the closeups of succulents, statues, etc. And I wonder just how they manage to keep those lawns mowed so beautifully, especially as it looks like it could be a very dangerous job with such a drastic slope.

They say the Middle East has its own flavour,aura or Mystery and its True.You noticed it in the sandy coloured Architecture scattered across Haifas Welcoming Range as the Golden Dome of the Ba'Hai temple glittered with the first rays which originated from a Jordanian Sunrise.The Dagon Silo was draped with an Enormous Banner Proclaiming The State of Israels 25 yrs of hard earned and Proud Identity.....from Book which may one day may be finished and possibly Published...Enjoyed every frame....

Hi Yair, I'm sure you could survive cold weather. It is so clean and no bugs, haha. Your feature was stunning, congrats. I didn't write here as my comment would have vanished among the millions of others on that special day, I guess. Finland rarely gets up to 30 degrees in summer. Our winter in Helsinki has so far been mild. It means daytime -5 C or warmer :) I don't go out much. The houses have double glazings and central heating. We have it much better than in damp Mediterranean weather. Only the darkness of the day is a problem to many people. We haven't got enough daylight till February. Finland is otherwise one of the best countries to live in. Statistically. I don't think many people would like to change their home because of the weather. I haven't been to Israel. As I didn't go when young I guess I never will see this interesting country. The ideal temperature for me would be 25 C. I love 4 seasons. But the winter is just too long here!! Enjoy your warm weather. I will plunge back in this album and download my favourite pic :) Have a great day, Merike

I have worked/become friends with many Jews over the past 20 years, based mainly in Haifa, but was surprised to learn that the Bahai sect is based in Haifa. Perhaps the Haifa community (Jews, Arabs and Christians) should look more closely at their history, and get rid of all reference to their common Colonial pasts, and just live together under the ideas, beliefs and politics of Christianity, Islaam, Judaism and, yes, even Atheism. Hi Yair, you are right. The Gardens category is necessary. I don't think you need to worry about its cancelling. I was just wondering about its role, as I saw many albums there that seem more suitable for the flowers category. But certainly Webshots has bigger problems. Yes, you are right, the Mideast category doesn't look very good. Webshots probably can't make people take better pictures, but they can give more attention to the Middle East by putting it in a separate category. Just yesterday they featured a good album from the the Middle East. I too hope for a better categorization, but in the meantime I am more bothered by the question: Is Webshots really that slow, or is it my connection? I'm afraid the answer is BOTH!!! :-s But I'm still not desperate!!! Cya, Orly

Hi Yair, It's a funny thing about coincidences! I had never heard of these gardens before, but about an hour after I went through your album I was watching a TV program on our "Travel Channel" on the top ten man-made wonders of the modern world when they showed this building and some of the gardens. Of course, as soon as I saw that dome I recognized it. They spoke of the history behind the temple, of its dome, gardens and of the terraces (16, I think - 8 above and 8 below the temple). I couldn't believe that within an hour I had heard twice, from totally different sources, about a place about which I had never heard before. It's a small world. Take care, Paul.
