  • Ciao a tutti! mi rendo conto che tutti voi siete stati piu' o meno... le fonti da cui ho attinto per un paio delle mie raccolte; tutti i vostri nomi li conosco per le foto che ho guardato e scaricato: mi pare dunque "inevitabile" che tanti virtuosi della fotografia e cultori del bello come voi dovessero finire per incontrarsi in un posto così suggestivo come Orvieto, per il loro primo incontro e per sancire un'affinità fino ad allora solo elettiva per la fotografia e la cultura del bello.. Grazie per avere avuto una simile idea e per aver condiviso con noi questi capolavori - Ciao a tutti, spero di potervi incontrare prima o poi in qualche altro posto "artisticamente" idoneo a fare da modello per le foto, in Umbria o in Toscana o su qualche lago lombardo, magari Orta o Como... It's a broad variety of pictures which gives a wonderful view of the city, during the day as well as the night. Among all the great shots I especially like to mention #102 Light and Shadow that shows once more what photography in fact is: writing with light.   • Finalmente ho trovato l'album!!! Grazie, Simonetta... E' un vero tesoro, bello, bellissimo!!! Mi avrei piaciuto tanto potere stare con voi... Avrei potuto imparare tanto di voi tutti! Vedo che Orvieto è una città medievale bellissima e in mezzo della pioggia e della nebbia mi sembra ancora più bella... un po' misteriosa, assolutamente affascinante. Delle fotografie, che cosa ne posso dire? Mi piacciono le geometrie, le vedute notturne del Duomo, le bottiglie, i vicoli, le finestre... tutto insomma fa di quest'album un vero capolavoro.   • Oh, this album was so beautiful! I felt like I was with all of you!! I loved all of the photos, but the following are my favorites, I think, because they gave me a feeling of being there: "mist and rain," "a strange world," "orvieto duomo 1" (so majestic!), "orvieto duomo front night," "walking along the city," "a fine nook," "it's growing dark," "an ancient halley," and, of course, last but not least "webshots italia friends"! You all look wonderful! I only wish I could have seen Clara. Oh well, maybe next time. Congratulations on such a beautiful album! ~ Ciao, Shelley (California ... wishing I was in Italy!)

  • Dear Friends! congratulazioni per la splendida iniziativa! Questo bellissimo album e' il miglior modo per festeggiare la nascita del WIG! Come Luca anch'io navigo in difficolta' "informatiche" e mi devo adattare all'uso di un piccolo e vecchio portatile sicuramente non adatto per godere delle belle immagini che arricchiscono l'album. Presto arriverà un nuovo computer e quindi potro' riprendere a pubblicare le mie foto. Le belle immagini mi hanno riportato al periodo in cui ho svolto la prima parte della mia carriera di militare di leva (circa 30 anni fa'...) e mi hanno riportato allo splendore del duomo, i vicoli, le ottime osterie, il vino eccellente e... i vent'anni. Splendide impressioni che ho rivissuto scorrendo le fotografie. Invidio un pochino i "padri fondatori" che hanno potuto condividere questi bei momenti di "fotografia" e "convivialita'" . In attesa che si verifichino le condizioni per l'organizzazione di un ennesimo meeting (avrei veramente il grande desiderio di conoscere personalmente tutti voi...) brindo virtualmente (in realtà ho a portata di mano una buona bottiglia di Brachetto...;-)) alla nascita del Webshots Italia Group!!!   • Cari amici, prima di tutto vi devo ringraziare per avermi invitato all’incontro; in effetti ho ricevuto una e-mail di Simona, ma la comunicazione mi è arrivata proprio in un periodo durante il quale ho avuto problemi sia al PC che alla connessione (problemi che si sono ripresentati di nuovo recentemente, fino a farmi decidere di sostituire sia PC che modem). Per questo motivo ho letto il messaggio molti giorni dopo; visto che non avrei potuto essere presente ad Orvieto in quelle date, visto anche il notevole ritardo con il quale ho letto la mail, non ho nemmeno risposto, come invece avrei dovuto fare. Mi scuso per essere stato poco cortese con tutti voi, soprattutto con Simona che mi ha scritto. A volte la mia lentezza (o pigrizia) non è molto adeguata ai mezzi tecnologici moderni ... così da rimediare magre figure ... Venendo a note meno dolenti ... ho ammirato le vostre foto! La bellissima iniziativa è stata seguita anche da una grande idea di creare un account comune che raccolga le meravigliose immagini impresse in occasioni di questo e dei futuri meeting. Alcuni mi pare che vogliano vedere scritta l’associazione tra la foto e l’autore; per me va bene così, perché se l’album è di gruppo è giusto non distinguere tra un fotografo e l’altro. Chi conosce il modo di fotografare di ognuno di voi, avrebbe ben poche difficoltà ad individuare lo stesso l’autore. Vi faccio i complimenti per aver tirato fuori ottimi scatti anche in presenza del maltempo, che vi ha fatto rifugiare in magnifiche cantine e che non vi ha impedito ad uscire anche di sera, con delle foto notturne di grande fascino ed atmosfera. Ho rivisto con piacere la famiglia di Ruggero al completo (già conosciuta grazie alle foto di Orly) e sono molto felice del grande ritorno di Clara in WS (immagino la vostra insistenza...). Vi ringrazio tutti per avermi dato la possibilità di condividere le vostre giornate, vissute con grande serenità ed amicizia. Un grande abbraccio a tutti da Luca.

  • Dear Friends, A stunning album, an album of great Art; What a pleasure to see and to analyse the extreme quality of most of the pictures; In 7, 8, 9 my preferred is 9 even if the realty is perhaps different; I was wondered also by 14 Duomo at night, the double clock in 20, the Old Bull 22, the funny 28, the magnificent inside of the Duomo in 30, the bells in back light 37, the romantic hotel street lamp in 38, the Failed Mimetisme in 44, the impressive quality shot of the painting in 54, the great duo of master pieces Sleep & Sisters 62 & 70, the lovely pastel colours of Yellow Wine in 66, the Duomo saturated lines in 96, the square in the fog 97 another master piece as Light Shadow 101, my most preferred; Perhaps could you decline who is who in the last picture; A very professional Group, thanks to Maurizio for the invite, Jacques

The series of the cathedral stripes is very good, as is the series in the wine cellar - I am learning from all of you! But my favorites are #31 and 36 - just exactly my kind of scenes. I assum that Orvieto was the meeting place, as she is in the midel btween Milano/TorinoRoggero) and Salerno (Maurizio)..... What had you doen there? Where did you stay? How shoot the photos?
