Album Description:
Farmhouses, no matter their state of repair, and other farm buildings, are a source of fascination to me. Most photos in this album were shot in the Hunter Valley, with a few from other parts of country NSW.

One of my favorite topics also. Old farms, old barns, old homesteads.......the history of it all is fascinating to me. Thanks for allowing us to view your photos.

Wow Keith! I love farm houses and other buildings. I dream of living in a similar situation some time. i live near the Hunter Valley, well close by. Once I managed a small property at Mulgoa (near Penrith (western Sydney for those who don't know). We had several head of cattle, a shed or two and a nice old sandstone building which used to be a ballroom years ago! Great work, thanks for the memories too! Paul (umina beach NSW)

Hi Keith, this is fascinating album and almost a documentary of vanishing world. You have nicely captured the beauty and character of these structures. We may see its owner’s intelligence to locate houses in a way to take the most advantage of existing terrain topography. It is interesting to notice that very similar structures we had in the western Canada almost 50 years ago…and today - all are almost gone. Thank you so much for your wonderful comments on my Egyptian presentation. More photos I have to select and post. My friendly greetings, Rafal

Hi Keith, This was a fascinating album. I love old farm houses. My uncle bought one in 1935 which was an abandoned wreck and today it is a spectacular home. I have not been on the computer with photos lately as my computer died and I got a new one but am having problems getting on to the new ways. Will be going to California in January so will start again with new photos however I did put one in near Halloween entitled Scarecrows-2005. It was fun. As it is snowing hard today it is impossible to get outside. Take care, Janet

An extraordinary subject to focus on, with such extremes and amazing differences in the various farm houses. Some wonderful scenes we'd never otherwise know about or see - so an expert promoter of all there is to offer in Oz. Thanks. Sue

Hi Keith, it was very intersting for me to watch this album of farm houses. It looks as a snapshot of the past... Thanks for visiting my Baha'i Gardens album. It seems that while you were away from home we were both very lucky. Wishing you a wonderful weekend, Yair.

I, too, have a penchant for older buildings and have a private album of some of them for use by an artist friend locally. This album of yours really demonstrates how many of our farmers have prospered despite telling one and all that they could go bust at any time! Nice photos buddy. Also many thanks for being the first (just) to sign my Russ Cottage guest book. You were certainly quick off the mark as I had only posted it about half an hour earlier. Actually I slipped up there as it was intended to be a private album for the gentleman who was our guide when we visited there this last Sunday. I really MUST check myself more carefully! All the best, Peter

Very interesting tour Keith & descriptions of these Farm Houses...I like the old wooden abandoned ones as they show so much character from the past..Guess that's why I love the old wooden barns here in America as I go searching for them...G'Day Mate' & God Bless from Texas...Ken

What a fun album to tour! Thanks so much for the look at the farm land around there. I have always loved old farm houses and barns. Living in the middle of Illinois, I get to see a lot of both. Even the town I live in is called -Farmington- lol. Once again you did a great job photographing these buildings and bringing them to us. Take care, John.

Hi Keith! You seem to have had a busy weekend posting albums. Loved looking at these Farmhouses, but my favourites tonight are #6 because it is complete with Verandah, Rainwater Tank and Shed; #9 because I like the charm of the Remains; and #32 where the Cattle are dwarfed by the huge Moreton Bay Fig.. Thanks for sharing.. Gladys, Western Australia.

Hi Keith, lovely shots of the old Aussie style farm houses with their verandahs that surround the whole house. Nothing like them is there. Hunter valley is fabulous for photographing. Gorgeous country side. Thanks for the visit Hugs Chris and Jay

Hi there - another brilliant effort. Yet again I was too slow but guess a silver is better than 'nowt! Your subject matter is really proving yourself to be a pro, noticing all the 'different' things so many others just pass by with no acknowledgement of at all ... particularly through their side mirrors! That was a fantastic one. These were really superb - thanks as always. Sue

Hi Keith, i am honourd to be the first to sighn your guestbook, i was also going to sighn your farm machinary book as well but i thought i would leave that honour to some one else. I have checked out both albums, i asume they where shot together and split later yes. Most of the machinary is very old and i don't have a clue what it's for, but you did a real good job of photographing it all. The farmhouse in the car mirror was a real good shot i really liked that one, well done. Thanks for sharing regards Mike. Oh! yes and thanks for looking at my Autum album. Have a good weekend.
