Hi Bill - enjoyed your photos; some of them brought back memories for me too, from my R & R like Ginza, Hachiman Shrine, Kamakura, the Imperial Palace... Best regards - Jim

New novel about post-war Nagoya, Japan by Bud Tyler. See Lulu.com for We Were Kings. The story of young GIs living the lives of Kings in Post War Japan.

Enjoyed your photos from a time gone by. I recently wrote a novel about GIs in Post War Japan. It is called We Were Kings. If you served in Japan in the early 50's you might see yourself in the book. It is: We Were Kings, available on Lulu.com. Bud Tyler

Thanks for sharing your photos it, was a great memory trip! While my husband was in the Navy, I was able to take a trip to Japan from Hawaii in 1961. In 1968 we received orders and spent the tour in Yokohama. A little of my heart will always remain in beautiful Japan.

Thanks for the show. I was stationed in Japan on three tours. I was at Tachikawa, Nagoya, and Fuchu. I have written a book about my experiences in Japan as well as the rest of my life. Perhaps you would find my book interesting. If so, go the Lulu.com. In the search block put Laughing All The Way, or type my name Burket E. 'Bud' Tyler. Bud Tyler, SMSGT, USAP Ret.

A trip down memory lane for me. Thanks for the shot of the old Imperial Hotel. I spent many wonderful hours browsing thu the wonderful shops down in the arcade. My father was stationed in Tokyo in the mid 1950's. We lived at Washington Heights. Prior to living in Japan, my father was stationed in Korea. I have a few photos he took there in my album called my Father's photos.

I was just blown away looking at pictures of Tokyo during the late 50s. It was like taking a trip back in time. Thanks for sharing them!
