Hello John! I know I have not been able to write for a long time. I do not want to go into reasons which were totally beyond my control. I am more on an even keel now, and feel I will have more time to reestablish contact. In the mean time let me thank you ever so much for your kind words of appreciation on my Namibia album. I value your views. My highlight of the trip was the visit to the Himba village. When I took photographs of those simple tribal folk, I felt I was writing poetry. It was a very stirring experience. I hope this finds you in good cheer! Best wishes, Suresh

Hi John, what a marvellous album of a very magical place. I just saw Suresh Krishna's photos of Peru, and now yours. It must be quite an experience to visit such a special country. Wonderful orchids as well. I know from my own experience they are very easily missed if you don't know they are there, you have to develop a special eye for them (for all flowers and insects, for that matter). I really enjoyed this virtual trip. I am not sure I could take such a trip in the real world with my vertigo which seems to get worse every year. Kind regards, Marjon

Hello John, I had a wonderful two week vacation in Peru. The country surpassed all my expectations. And, I am not exaggerating here. I am not just talking about Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, Cuzco etc., The colour of the provincial people completely captivated me. Their friendliness was, indeed, very endearing. Needless to say, I felt quite at home and with my camera I was like a little boy in a toy shop with my eyes wide open in amazement. The weather was perfect all of the two weeks, which was a real bonus. Though, I did search high and low near Machu Picchu, I could not find any unusual orchids. May be the season was not right. Anyway, I have your excellent album of orchids for me to look at. All I wanted to say was that Peru will long linger in my memory as an exceptional place I have visited in my global travels. I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to visit Peru. I would be greatly pleased if you take a look at the album and comment. Hope this finds you in good cheer. Best wishes, Suresh

My goodness, what a treasure trove of pictures I have stumbled upon!! This is a great treat for me. I was looking for some pictures of Peru as I am planning a vacation there this summer and, lo and behold, I come across your truly excellent album. What I like the most about this album is your passion for the place, your total commitment to nature and how you relate to all that is Peruvian. I am sure it comes from growing up there in those beautiful surroundings. Your obsession with the flora of the region is understandable. I know how much I have often struggled with finding the correct botanical name of a flower I have found in the wild. I can feel the exceitement of your adventure in swimming the Yuracyacu river, the wanderings of the El Boqueron del Padre Abad. What exquisite pictures you have taken there. Lake Yarina is another one that had me rivetted, so did the Ancash mountains. While Macchu Pichu is a 'must see', I would also like to vist Ollantaytambo. Oh, there is so much to see. I wish I had all the time! Thank you for taking me through a virtual tour of many places in Peru many of which, probably, I would not see. This is an amazing album and I am sure I will come back to it many times before I get to Peru. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes, Suresh from India.
