Hi Bill! Thanks for the kind comments on my barn album. You do have some wonderfull pictures in your barn albums. We do not have round barns in Western Canada, at least, not that I've seen. I have to travel far from home to find the ones that I do. Leona, Alberta Canada.

Hi Bill, I just can never get enough of your barns. These round barns are so picturesque in themselves, but your composition really shows them off. The Roundhead OH barn was amazing. Thanks. Mike

Hello Bill, can't get enough of your barns and your sites are good for the soul. Checked on a HABS-HAER site this morning, catching quite a bit of info on a 1936 bridge I've been shooting for three days now, probably early February you'll see a new album attached to my site. Always good to see more of your photos. No clues there were so many round barns in your portion of the States. Do you know if any of these barns have been turned into livable houses? Thanks again. Appreciate your time. Ron/Oregon Coast

Hi Bill I have never seen a round barn I didn't like :) I saw your comment on a recent featured album and thought I'd check out your barns. Barns are one of my things .. along with covered bridges and old lighthouse. They are all sprinkled throughout my albums. I will return again and again to look at more of your albums. Thanks for sharing your hobby with us and have a safe and prosperous New Year :) sincerely .. Donnali

Good Evening, Sir: I'd like to say that your site is quite outstanding-I've never had the pleasure of seeing so many round barns in my entire life! I've downloaded too many to mention from your sites today, actually 14, some Victorian, barn and barn skematics, all quite educational here and your write-ups have more meaning when applied. I do appreciate your macro work as these are tough applications to capture. I was looking around some other guest books and found your architectural site worth thumbing through. You're quite welcome to visit my site whenever you'd like. Some interest in lighthouses and macro work. This area is know for its timber, might want to view that album too. I do thank you for allowing us to see your thoughts on film here. A real nice site. Care to expound more on architecture, catch my email. Thanks again. Ron, Oregon coast

First I have to say, thanks so much for the flattering comment in my guestbook. Also, what a honour it was to hear that you were actually able to see models for the Space Needle masterpiece by the very guy himself! Thanks for telling me that and enjoyed looking at your various albums of barns. They hold so much charcter and you have captured great details of so many of them. Thanks for sharing and enjoyed looking again!

Ciao Bill! Thanks for your nice words...Lucerne it's a wonderful city I particularly love...but about burns..In Italy we do not have this kind of "things" ; (forgive me, I am not an architect!), what they make me remember, quite different, just because they are round, is Trulli of Alberobello. Just see: ttp://www.lanera.com/it/g alleria/stone/alberobello en.html Trulli is the name of ancient houses in a little country of the south of Italy, Alberobello, well preserved, which are houses in stones, round, perfectly round, where people still today live in... Thanks again, Clara

Hi Bill, very nice and interesting barn pictures. I have actually never seen round barns before, but maybe I did not look properly? :-). I would imagine round barns are practical for storing hay. I also very much enjoyed your album with the barn details. Thanks very much for your kind comments in my guestbook, they are much appreciated!

Hi Bill! Beautiful round barns! But why did people start with this so much more difficult it build barns than the square or hectagonal ones? Your question about fogging lenses and eyelashes freezing at the viewfinder you posed me, when writing someting in my album Freezing for Life... I don't have those problems. First of all my eyelashes are not very long and flashy and more importantly my camera is digital meaning you don't have to look close at it. Many of the freezing photo's I made with the Macro function, using a tripod. What I got were VERY cold and wet feet with all the ice thawing in the morning. I tried to make pictures when the farmer was still sprinkling his orchard (rainbows would have been nice) but it was to wet and therefore to dangerous for my camera. Where do you live? You've been to Europe many times I see. My holiday is just over: Germany Tsjechia (?) and Austria. I made a lot of photo's of the beautiful houses and villages there. Processing them (and selecting and discarding!!!) will take time. My sunflower photo's will come first. Thank you very much for making me one of your favorite members! I started making photo's my hobby only a couple of months ago; when my Canon Powershot s30 got hold of me (enslaved me). Before that; I used to make only snapshots at summer holidays. December was my first album: the bread & orange one. Many greetings Anna Oldenhave, The Netherlands

Thanks for your message in my guestbook a couple of days ago. Yes - the morels are real - except for the "Big Mushroom" which was "digitally enhanced". I've looked thru your albums. You seem to be attracted to the same kind of stuff that interests me - old structures and old things. We've sure got enough of that stuff in Indiana don't we. I like your pictures. Bill I'm glad you enjoyed my macro photos. Macro photography is tricky at best. I use a Canon D60 digital camera. My lens for macro is a Canon 2.8 100mm Macro Lens. Of course I use a tripod in most cases, but this is not always posible. I use mirror lockup, timer and I usually set my aperture to f16 or f22. I looked at your albums, and really liked them. I see that you like to photograph round barns. I was in Oaklandon, Indiana this past march and photographed one not far from there. I'm not sure which county it was in, but I could find out if you would like to know. I have put the picture in my Webshots album titled 'Landmarks'. You can see it and download it if you like. Have a good day, Bill

Some of these seem to fantastic to be just a barn! New Zealand Barns are more ordinary, square or oblong, never round, but we do have round silos for grain.

Also, for more round & other barn pictures, try www.ohiobarns.com. Mike has a whole bunch of round barns (we probably duplicate most) and other barns & stuff. P.S. What lovely photos of the round barns. You certainly don't see these very often. My favorite is the Manchester. Thank you for viewing my Victorian Dollhouse album and for your kind comments. The secret to photographing dollhouses is to stick your head into the dollhouse - set your camera for macro and go for it!! Then crop, crop, crop... ;) Best wishes, Rita
