Beautiful album. After four trips to Britain, I haven't seen any of these in person yet. Time for another vacation! Lora

Dear Ken, I have really enjoyed browsing through this album. It has brought back lots of memories from my trips to England. Your photography of these classical English houses certainly does them justice. They are so beautiful and so typically English. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes, Judith, from Australia.

Hi Ken, You have quite great places to photograph, too. True, there is a lot going on in NY and I can never get bored with it, but your albums show a character too. Thanks for your note. Roza

Fantastic album Ken as the landscaping on these Historical Houses is simply awesome...The lawns are so well kept as it seems from your images "not a blade of grass out of place" as each one is manicured to prefection..I'm way behind on my viewing & commenting on albums from my friends...Thanks for sharing & God's Blessings from Texas...Ken

Hi ya, Ken! Hey you know Gary and I looked to buy a place very similar to #1 but I just didn't think I could keep it clean so we opted for something a little smaller. LOL Good lord!! Good ole taxes will pay for anything! Glad to hear you have been out clicking away - you have been kinda slacking these past few weeks - or is it me that's slacking in the viewing? Me probably. Cant wait to see those swans and of course I know that you will make it a lively album with your captions - you ALWAYS do!! I'm All Kinds Of Things & I'm Not Sure What I Am are STILL my favorite albums because of the captions - you are such a HOOT!! Me? I have officially begun my spring cleaning - YUK! Wish I was in Africa with Lorrie!!! Hugs "and all that" - Jeanie

Hi Ken! I loved this album. We don't get to see such beautiful architecture in the historical and classical homes around the Midwest US. I loved the gardens also. Thanks for the sweet message in the blog today for Bob and me. I appreciated it so much. I've added you as a favorite member, but forgive me if I am slow in writing in new albums--I'll try to write as soon as I can. Have a wonderful weekend. :-) Sharon

Hi Ken,what a beautiful album from these two stately houses and their gardens, they make wonderful subjects and you composed some superb images here,I was inpressed by your managing to avoid visitors in your photos, they so often crowd the scenes when you visit them.Like you,my favourite was the old boathouse, what a lovely scene and beautifully framed by the trees, thanks so much for sharing them. I'd like to wish you both a Happy and Healthy New Year,Regards,Rod.

Hi Swampy! Very impressive houses and gardens mate. I'd hate to be the window cleaner or the lawn mowing man. My favourite photo is one of what is probably a guest house across the other side of a large pond. That is a very nice photo. Thanks for having a look at the cygnet album on shortshooter. Oh Ken What a fantastic album!!!!! I love the old manor houses etc.Blickling Hall gardens are wonderful too.I feel like I just want to stroll there forever. To be able to breathe in that sense of history too is so amazing isn't it? I am a history buff! Of course seeing those huge green lawns all I see are "mowing headaches" but I'm sure they have riding mowers(ha) Why did thay call them Orangery's? Because they grew fruits like oranges & lemons etc in them? Just wondering? Thanks for this super album my dear friend: Kathryn from a long ways away!

Hi Ken: for us foreigners, "hall" and "house" sound so simple, unpretentious - and when you discover what these expressions can hide, you are speechless - the more the real buildings can't hide! - No contest: wonderful castles (just the materialistic question: who can pay the maintenance?...) - we simple citizen would be proud if we could live in the orangerie! - Besides all joke: compliments and thanks for this excellent repoprtage, which takes in account also the beautiful environs! - Take care, all the best: Yours: Kaethi and Henri
