  • Hi Yair, thanks for sharing these beautiful and special lights with all of us. A lovely Hanukkah album! Belated thanks for all of your kind comments on my Amsterdam photos. Between a very large writing project and a slow computer, I haven't been around here much this week. Yes, the weather wasn't great for photos, but I guess that's to be expected when one visits Amsterdam in late November. We still had a great time, though. Best wishes for a very happy holiday season. Marisa

  • Good evening Yair. I have taken a look at this album and I get the Christmas spirit. All thoose candles gives you a peace-full feeling inside, for mee. Then I ask my self will we ever get peace in the world???I don't think so,there will always be people who want's power. I am a very peace-full person and don't understand why some people have all and some nothing !!!I always try to help others, like to give more then to take. How we celebrate Christmas now in Holland is a crasy I think. It's all bout earning money,a lot of gifts, lot food and not thinking of other people. We celebrate Christmas-day with our family and being together is the most important thing. Yair thank you for visitin my albums and your kind words. The day we alk was not a cold day,and there were a lot of people waling that day,but I don't like to shoot people on my pictures,so I always wait. That thing on the grass-hill ,was some wood placed together for children to play,I know it looked like a castle or something like that. I don't know how the place looks like in the winter,we don't have much winter here in Holland. And yes when it's summer it's very crowded ther with people,it's a recreation-place for swimming, playing, camping, surfing and other things. We never go there in the summer,we dont like places were it's crowded, then we take the bicycle and go to the counryside. I also wich you and your family a Happy Christmas and a Good 2007 with some more peace over the world Take care Ida

  • Well Yair, to answer your questions... yes the first shoot is multiple exposures :o) And no, we had only that day to do the walk. Mud nothwithstanding, I'm very happy with the last shots! (I've debated long and hard with myself if should have I put the sunset pics at the beginning to attract more people, but then I've decided I prefer to keep the storyline :o) )... Of course I was the last! As I've learned the hard way, you cannot leave multiple exposures on all the time, or even an 8GB card will fill up quickly! :o) So I had to change settings often, and it meant stopping because it was impossible to walk without looking down at your feet :o) Still, I'm really pleased with the sunset shots :o) Ciao! Roberto

  • Hi Yair, thank you so much for your nice words about my Alentejo Fields album. I'm glad you liked it! This album about the Lights of Hanukkah in Jerusalem is really beautiful and fascinating. Fire always attracted me ( attention, I am not a pyromaniacal, although it seems there are many in Portugal...). These mystical flames have really a very relaxing effect. I loved specially photos 11 and 24. I think this was the only album that I hadn't seen yet in this page, it was the last... I must take a look at your other pages. All the best, Rosa

  • Hello and thank you for your kind words about my Vermont Revisted Album. My wife and I will be returning to Vermont in October, we skiiped 2005 because the Foliage wasn't as good, so we're anxious to return. I very much enjoyed your album here, I am not of your faith, but I have alot of respect for it and a lot of friends that practice it. Most of all I am wishing for peace, Shalom, for your country and the Middle East in General. It's madness and needs to stop.

  • Hello Yair, The Hannukkah light pictures are profound! To view the stereo cards you need one of those old antique stereopticans. You might be able to borrow one at the library. Antique shops sell them for around 30 to fifty dollars. It may need to be fixed up a bit. Stereo pairs need to be printed seven inches in width and mounted to card board with rubber cement. Hope you'll be able to see some 3D--lots of fun. You can also make your own stereo cards by taking two still life photos about three inches apart. Have a great week, Yair! Bob

  • Hi Yair - these are quite special. My highlight over this period of celebration was in 1976. I was a member of a junior orchestra from South Africa that went for a 3 week tour to Israel doing concerts and sight-seeing. Our experience of Hanukkah was quite magnificent when, after the third candle was lit, the entire orchestra group all walked down from the top of Masada carrying lit candles. An unforgettable trip and the highlight of my musical career. Thankyou for bringing back such wonderful memories. Mazeltov on your superb output depicting the festival of lights. Best wishes, Sue

  • Hi dear Yair! This is such a lovely album, dear friend! I love the story of Queen Esther and what she did for her people so much! I also love the lovestory between her and the king of Persia Xerxes or Ahasveros. I love this story, it is deep and full of the love of God! Hallel! And I admire and love your celebrations of this wonderful Hanikkah! - Thanks so much for visiting my Winter-Album from Lofer! Yes there was too much snow, but if there would have been sun - wouh - that would have been just too wonderful. Dear Yair I wish you and yours a blessed and good year 2006. Shalom to you, your family and Israel! Love - Trixi

  • Hi again Yair, What a magical place and season - beautifully captured by you!!! I certainly shouldn't pine for ice and snow (or sleet)! In fact, I have such an aversion to wintery weather that I avoid going outside whenever I can help it. Hence, there are no photos of snowy Luxembourg forthcoming; I am however in the process of uploading some snow pictures of Canterbury, England. Best wishes, Christine

  • Hi Yair, yes, it sure would be nice to visit Jerusalem at the evening of the last Hanukkah light. I was working, of course(!) but on my way home I saw lots of Hanukkah candlesticks, big ones at the entrance of every village/town and smaller ones just by the way. I never saw so many - never looked out for them. :-) Jerusalem for sure is the most appropriate place to look for them. Did you go to Jerusalem especially to make those photos?? If yes, it WAS worth it. Not only you had problems sending comments that night. It was just the rush hour at Webshots. They loaded more than 1.3 Mio photos up in 24 hours. It happens often that the message disappears, vanishes seeming not to be sent, but after a while it appears in the messages. I got from you in that night 2 comments and one email! I got used to the delay. They say they are working on it. After those busy days suddenly appeared in my all-over-guestbook lots of messages from non premium members. Those messages had approximately 3 days delay. You should check the entries between the 25. and 30. of December for not seen messages. . . . Hopefully your statistics are moving again. They get it fixed within one day after notification. . . . Yair, I wish you a wonderful week! - Galit

  • Hi Yair! These Lights are certainly enchanting and you have captured them beautifully. Well done! Thankyou for your message and yes, we could do with "Public Parks & Gardens" under Scenery & Nature, but people would still put the wrong things in there. As for Deserts, how about Arid Lands? Desserts (with 'ss') should definitely be under Food & Drink. Then there is the new heading of Forests -- I think that should have been Trees because so many people have made an album about just one Tree and that is not a Forest, also a row of Palm Trees on a Beach is not a Forest, but could be put under Trees. Wishing you happiness for 2006 and lots more wonderful photos.. Gladys.

  • Hi Yair, thanks for the invitation to this delightful album. Did you find all those lights in one place or did you have to search the city. I like those windows, 10, 20 and especially 25. Maybe #25 is not Hanukkah light but just a window full of light? It seems you did it all today, the day of the last light!? I miss only one picture. I miss that beautiful flower from your garden, in search for light! :-) Again Congratulations on the feature for your Bahai album. I think it is the best of the best I have seen about that garden. You really took your time and showed very well all those beautiful formations and lovely details. It is just the time of the year to work on an album like that. Very well done! And yes, it was a very good way to end the year . . . .answering hundreds of fantails! :-) :-) Have a wonderful day, - Galit
