Hi Gladys, Thanks for your kind comments re the clouds. I would like to do more drawing on the images but think I need to learn Photoshop better before I break something. Lol. I did have a peek at Kalgoorlie when the train stopped there for a while on the way to Perth. What a shame that the only tour we were offered was to the brothel area! (I declined). I would have loved the mine by the look of your pics. I consider it beautiful in its own rather grim and awesome way. Thanks for the panorama, it gives a powerful impression of the size. The earth colours go so well together like a painting by God, huh! How wonderful they are at the Breakaways - the purple and white is fascinating and of course the ochres are gorgeous. Glad to see the spinfex. Always wondered what it was like. Best for me was the hakea, beautiful colour and form and the skinny leaves teach me that there must be a huge variety in that plant species. I am used to fatter ones here. I have a new camera now. Just a Canon A610 but it does great macro shots and I will be posting some pics of flowers from my recent trip to the farm when I can get through all the editing. A 1 gig card makes for a lot of pics and of work! :>) Joyce from Adelaide.

Thanks for the compliments Gladys :o) It took 2 hours and a proper lens to get these pics. These 40 are the survivors of a merciless cut, I shot 400+ :o) But I do like these 40. After all the discussions about stats, I agree I'd love to see at least the current system work. My numbers get updated once a week if I'm lucky. Ciao! Roberto

Hi Gladys, thanks for your wonderful message - a month ago! I can't believe that already an other month is gone. I enjoy very much that Webshots is back on the trail. I certainly like the improvements. Hopefully the next steps will make it better and better. I tried several times to look at your new album, but never made it up to the end, just because of the very low speed. This album fascinates me! The shots of the pit are gorgeous. The different level of the pit, the different colors of the layers and the powerful mine machinery moving through your pictures. Not an easy project, especially as you photographed it against the light. Then I noticed the Eucalyptus torquata - wonderful! Thanks for those! And thanks for all the flowers by the way. I enjoyed them very much especially the white grevillia. How beautiful when every place is green with color dots. I assume Victoria Rock does not look this way in summer. A lot for additional thanks for all the information you put in this album! :-) Gladys I hope you are fine, and Yes, you are right: Health and Happieness are the most important things we can wish each other for 2006. Have a nice day! - Galit

Hi Gladys! Great pictures of Kalgoorlie Goldmines and Victoria Rock Nature Reserve! The latter looks a lot like the southwestern U.S. So glad to hear from you. Cheers! Keith

Hi Gladys! I really enjoyed your pictures of the Kalgoorlie Goldmines and the Victoria Rock Nature Reserve. The latter reminds me of the southwest U.S. I was glad to read your message today. It's been too cold here - mid 20s. Hope all is well with you in your part of the world. Cheers! Keith

Gladys, once again you are an excellent 'tourguide' for the places you visit. The mineral colors near the mines are incredible, but my favorites are the plant life you've so carefully identified. I also enjoy how you include a bit of the history of the places you are taking us to. Thanks for another interesting trip! Charlotte in Texas/New Mexico

Hello Gladys, what a wonderful album you have here,a fine blend of subjects from the Goldmines to Cityscapes, landscapes and florals and all the images were so beautifully captured and presented with good and interesting descriptions on the images.Goldmining has certainly made quite a marked impression on the landscape but with it's value that can be understood so easily.Just loved the town scenes and beautiful colourful and well detail;ed floral images, you have so many flowers and shrubs down there that we wouild never see over here in the UK and that makes them a bit extra special to me viewing the album. Many congratulations on this wonderful album and thanks for sharing it with us,Also like to say a big thank-you for your kind comment in my gueastbook,I've not had the opportunity for much photography recently, the weather and light haven't been very good but i'm really looking forward to spring and getting out with the cameras again,Regards,Rod.

Hi Gladys, This album has about everything - great landscapes, beautiful flowers and very informative text! Being very partial to beautiful landscapes, I particularly love the great panorama of the open pit mine. It has a great combination of beautiful contrasting colors and the awesome power of what man can do. It seems incredible that such a pit can be dug in only 16 years or so, one truckfull at a time. I am also thankful for the text. It’s very nice to combine the admiration of beauty with learning. Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. Thank you also for your kind words on yesterday's fiasco, but seven hours after I noticed that all but four of my albums gone, they were all back. It was very scary! Of over 1400 pictures, I only showed 167. I couldn't face the possibility of losing all those pictures (although I have them in my computer and backed up on CDs), guestbook entries and statistics. Mercifully, its over FOR NOW! I feel especially sorry for the affected people who had albums featured.

Hello Gladys, the delicacy of the wildflowers in this albun make a striking contrast to the harshness of the landscape, and balance the overall impression. Another superb album; I hope you enjoyed the trip as much as your photos indicate. Thank you for sharing your trip over these three albums. Best wishes from Keith.

Hi Gladys, I enjoyed watching your new album which is part of Goldfields Safari series. Are we expected to have more albums released? Thanks for your support regarding the my albums that disappeared yesterday. It really was scary. I didn't mind about the pictures themselves since I have backups for them but to loose most of my guestbook entries and views is something I did not like much (two of my featured albums were among those that disappeared). Fortunately, everything is OK now. Thanks also for visiting my Queen of the Night album. This one grows in my garden, we have every year only one dozen of flowers so you must be more lucky with your Epiphyllum oxypetalum. Do you have any pictures of these flowers? Best wishes, Yair.
