  • Hello Gladys! You have so many wonderful photos in all your albums! I love the sunsets and your wonderful comentary. Thank you for visiting my feature albun 2 Grizzlys and a tiger....I sure was suprised!! LOL Your spider looked a bit scarry, are they poison? Sometimes scarry is poison enough for most folks. Love your art work, will be back for more as soon as I can, until then Thank you and best wishes, Carolyn

  • Hi Gladys! What an amazing trip you must have had, visiting all these exciting and interesting places! I am very intrigued by your photos of the Breakaways - beautiful colours amongst gorgeous eucalypts! What is a Laterite, by the way? It is not a geological term I have ever come across in NZ. Thank you for your comments in my guestbook and I have ammended the caption for the flowers from Tasmania...I blew up the label in the background and it did indeed say Ladies Purse - It was there all along!!! I see from Keith that you are heading off to Tasmania! Am really looking forward to seeing your photos of that wonderful place - I can't wait to go back there again sometime :) Warmest regards, Kate

  • Hello Gladys, how did I ever miss this wonderful album?!!? I expect it popped up while I was away travelling and slipped under my radar. An absolutely fabulous collection of photos. The Breakaways alone make a wonderful contribution to this album. The Community Art Project at Hyden is awesome, and quite famous. I loved the huntsman, and got quite excited about the redback for a brief moment. Your detailed commentary adds so much to the viewing pleasure as well. I can't wait to see your Tasmanian shots. Take care, best wishes from Keith.

  • Hi Gladys, thanks for your many messages in my guestbooks. It is always a great pleasure to hear from you. The net is again very slow today!- Those Ribbon Gums on the cover pictures look great. A wonderful capture. I think those Eucalyptus trees are ALWAYS very photogene and beautiful. Pic# 7 is gorgeous too!! I sure wouldn't go to the Eco-toilet if I would know that spider lives there, even if it is a happy spider. . . Those rock formations are interesting and beautiful especially pic#14 (WOW)! Thanks for all that information you added to the pictures. How lovely all those flowers you found on your way. The white grevillea is lovely and so is the 'Pink Spike Hakea' in pic#24 and all the others! The Lake sunset is breathtaking. I like the first picture most. I think the wires make the picture more balanced. The machinery museum and especially the public art are interesting. The Goanna looks like made out of very essential parts of a car! :-)) I assume you liked those art too, according to the large number of pictures for this part of the album. At last I found those wonderful close-ups of the red flowering Eucalypt. My collection of blooming Eucalyptus pictures is growing! :-) Thanks for that! -- And here the answeres to your questions: Those yellow bells in the lonely tree album are 'nodding Wood sorrel' - Oxalis pescaprae. I had to laugh as you compared our double postboxes to the Webshots categories. You are absolutely right. There are too many people who do not care to choose the right categories. I just put all my trees in the forest category. That might not be right, but at least it is close to right! :-) In the flower department they weren't right too.- I saw some of the Australian postboxes in Jayne's album too. I didn't know about the existence of a Express Mailbox. Yoav is growing up much too quick. It is exciting to see his progress. - The Carambula tree is very insignificant. Getting in my car I saw a carambula fruit beside the car and looked up - and saw what your see in the pictures: hundreds of Carambulas. I sent a friend to look at the tree - she didn't find it!!- That dog was sitting up there and watching the traffic passing by. I still don't know how he could get up there. He sure wouldn't jump down on my side, it is much to high with its 2,5 meter.- Gladys, have a wonderful day! Galit

  • Hi Gladys, The Breakaways are fascinating landforms. Thanks for sharing them with us. I think the orange grevillea so beautiful. Is it native to WA? You never know what you will see in little country towns, do you! Fancy all that ingenious sculpture there. I wish that I could see all the pics large size but my dial up is so slow it would take forever! Working up to biting the bullet and changing to broadband sometime fairly soon. Then I will give your albums a real going over!! Heh heh. BTW, interesting that you have just visited the Jasper album because I was about to add some pics of him which I took while we were on the farm recently. I am finding the new Canon A610 on Auto, plus Photoshop "auto levels" editing is producing better pics without any increase is skill on my part. Very helpful for a slow learner. ;>) Joyce.

  • Gladys, the London Eye offers a nice view, true, but the stained and curved glass and the lovely english weather put a strain on photography :o) I sent to the bin loads of shots from that day :o) I'd say you have to be lucky (with the weather) to enjoy it! Anyway thanks for your kind words, as always. Ciao! Roberto

  • Hi Gladys, What fun those various sculptures are! I also enjoyed reading about the maleefowl. They somewhat resemble turkeys and peacocks, don't they? What an interesting evolution is their nest engineering! Charlotte TX/NM

  • Hi Gladys! The colour of "The Breakaways" is pretty spectacular. Lots of grevillias to photograph and I like the pink featherflowers. What really tickled my fancy were the historic figures in Hyden. Someone was very clever. Thanks for sharing mate. Hugs Al

  • Hi Gladys! We are back in this amazing album, discovering more details! Thanks for your two nice messages! As you suggested, we added a short message in the WS Blog (stats). This blog gets so big now that we haven't time to follow all the messages... And we don't like to write messages there with our English... :-))) ! But of course, we would like to write a lot of (mostly constructive)things! So we are happy that you do this, for us and others! Best wishes, with love, Henri and Käthi

  • Hi Gladys, I'm glad to visit the 4th one in the series of beautiful albums of Goldfields Safari. Unfortunaely, it's still not easy to watch pictures but I promise to visit again after I'm back from NZ. As for the stats, it seems that they added the views of the Jan 19th only and did not count yet those in the previous days (15-18th). See you in 3 weeks, Yair.

  • Nice pics again Gladys - love the mechanical people/features in the park in Hayden. I envy the clarity you get with that camera - time for me to upgrade my old 1.6Mp Sony Mavica to something a little more upmarket. Cheers, Alan.

  • Again a suggestive collection, brava! :o) As for album length, I made the "mistake" at the beginning of categorizing them by location, so I ended up with oversized London and NY... I'll try to clean up (and I'm slowly adding captions too!), please be patient ;o) Roberto

  • Hi Gladys, What a charming album! I love the beautiful flowers, in particular your "Yellow Featherflower". I also had a lot of fun examining the sculptures. It's sad about the Malleefowl losing its range. That's happening all over. We love birds, their colorful plumage, their funny rituals and their melodious songs, yet we keep making it more difficult for them to survive. By the way is the Malleefowl related to our own wild turkey? They look very much alike and their behavior sounds similar. Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. Your captions certainly add very significantly to the appeal of this album.

  • What causes the Breakaways? Is it the process of erosion wearing away softer materials and leaving the harder rock behind? Whatever the process, the geological features are fascinating. Thank you for sharing them through your creative lens! Keith
