  • Hi, I am from Montevideo, Uruguay, but I lived for 4 years in Manchester and I loved all those places, they are the most beatufull I had seen. It was very good for me to see your pictures. I even took many pictures myself of the covered bridges, lakes and rivers and New Englands´autumn. You are welcome to see my pictures of all those places and from my country too in my space:http://eljardindemary.spaces.live.com And thank you for sharing your photos! Bye!

  • Wonderful album! You, Sir, are very talented. New Hampshire is a very beautiful state, as is Maine. Of couse so is Vermont. We were thrilled to go there this past year, looking at your photos it looks like we missed most of the color. This album made me fall in love with those states all over again. Then again, there is no place like home....segseven, OKLAHOMA

You did a good job of seeing a lot of northern New England and taking some beautiful pictures along the way. It made me homesick... Ken - Maryland/USA

  • Hey Bob! I want the swimming pool! That is a great pic! As they all are! Thanks for the encouragement! A tripod really does make a lot of difference. Especially if you just can't hold still! I've tried holding my breath but it doesn't help.:-)))) I'll be waiting for some night shots of roses maybe! It really freaks the neighbors out! LOL! Big hugs for you both! Jane

  • Chazp, since I do not have a way to send you a guestbook entry because you do not have any albums on Webshots, I can only hope you will look at the album again. In answer to your questions, they did not find any evidence of the profile falling off due to acts of man. From all we have heard the profile was just discovered in its natural formation from erosion and the state of NH tried to preserve it, but as you can see from the photo in this album it was pretty broken up and they knew that it was just a matter of time before erosion won out. They were trying to hold it together with epoxy and rods, but it just finally gave way! Also, it only looked like a face from one point. We are not experts on this matter because we live in Missouri and have only seen "The Old Man" twice, but hope this info helps answer your questions. You're really fortunate to live close to Pikes Peak! That's really beautiful country out there!! Thanks for the guestbook entry! Bob

    said of rmr2u rmr2u 2003.05.10 at 17:18:16 PDT

  • Did the face fall off due to acts of man? Since the face has only been there approximately a century, was it created or enhanced by man? If no on both parts, is the mountain erodeing that fast in general? Thank you, a Pikes Peak boy.
